Hey everyone,
my name is phil, I pop up (not recently) at MMsports meetings/activities randomly but am not a member. For those who know me (probably know my car better), I used to drive a black MKIII VW gti vr6. I traded that a couple months ago and now I am the proud owner of a nugget yellow VW Corrado G60. I'm almost certain you've seen my car around JMU, it's kind of hard to miss!
Anyways, I've just recently purchased some new wheels, but I need help taking the tires off my old wheels to put them on the new ones.
Does anyone know of a shop, a person, someone with a tire machine and wheel balancer to help me put my tires on the new wheels?? Especially people like justin and others who work at Dryft performance shop that have access to a tire machine?
I would really appreciate the help. Thanks!
Blue Ridge Tire does a good job. Make sure you ask for Kenny. Tell him you are from MM and they will give you a discount.

I have seen your car around campus, definitely don't see a whole lot of those around
I might be able to help you. What size wheels do you have? What profile (series) are the tires?

I was kind of hoping I could find someone that could do it for free...or at least for some beer... I have mechanic friends back in NOVA that could have done it, but they were just not available this weekend.
I brought the rims down here thinking I might find someone through MM. I guess I'll do it through Blue Ridge Tire as a last resort if the price is right.
Does Dryft have a tire machine and is it possible for an MM person that works there help me out?
Thanks again for all replies and info

should not be bad. they are 16x7 wheels. the tires are 205/45/16
No MM person works at Dryft. I can do those, no problem. I might be able to do it sometime this week in the evening. Its a 30-40 min. drive to my machines, just buy me some dinner.

I would really really appreciate it and I would definitely buy you lunch. It's the least I could do for your help. When would be best for you?
I don't know if I have work this week. We could shoot for Wednesday evening. We would need to leave here around 4:30 so we could be there when the shop closes at 5. My IM is the same as my forum name here. How low is the thing? Will it fit on a normal two post lift?

Wed is looking good. I haven't been called about work yet. I need to do a set of speakers and an antenna in my friends Ranger while we are down there, shouldn't take much time.

Hey, sorry for being so back and forth, but I sent you another email about not being able to get it done....
Unfortunately, the person that was going to help me is unable to because he is being watched over by a new boss, so it would be hard to bring in a random car to get the tires done.
If you happen to see this post or my email, I would REALLY REALLY appreciate your help if you're still available. Look at the email for my cell number if you want to get a hold of me.
Thanks so much and sorry about the confusion...VW's and especially corrados always cause problems either mechanically, electrically, or just in life..LOL
I think I can still do it tomorrow. We would need to leave around 4:30. E-mail me your number...I deleted the e-mail by mistake.
