Have you guys ever seen <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.pandora.com">www.pandora.com</a><!-- w -->

You type in an artist or song name, and a "radio station" custom fit to that song or artist name is generated. Listen to it for free - but I dont think you can play the same song twice in a row..a few other oddities..pretty cool though. If you just cant find the station on XM that suits you, this might be able to help. you can add more than one artist to a station too.

heh. I kind of forgot about it. It's been out at least 2 years, but I think maybe it was in beta before or something, and didnt have as much selection. My friend reminded me again, and it seems like the song bank has gotten a lot deeper.

eh - im really not a huge fan of it. the "technology" or whatever behind it is cool. but for me its focus is too much on the actual music not the "genre" of music. meaning if I asked for Linkin Park - I get somethign that may use the same instruments, production techniques as Linkin Park but its no guarantee that it will be in the same genre of music. Also - I'm all for discovering new artists, but throwing a few mainstream bands in the mix wouldn't be a bad thing

Really? I thought it did a really good job...i was a little skeptical at first too, but I made a playlist based off of a song by Darkest Hour - and it did a real good job of picking up on the american thrash genre with a lot of bands i'd heard of, and some i hadnt, but still had the same feel to them.

I also made a bluegrass playlist off of an instrumental bluegrass song, and all the other songs I got back were also ONLY instrumentals...i thought that was pretty neat.

Man - one of the ads just popped up to add an "Airforce" station to my pandora - so I did, thinking it'd be something awesome. Well, i was wrong, in the first 5 songs, one was Lee Greenwood, one was Dierks bently or whatever with that "come a little closer" song....i cant remember the rest because i deleted the station, but it was nothing that would inspire me to join the airforce
