so this morning on my way to work, i hit a lady in her jeep wrangler. i didnt even make it out of my fucking parking lot but i didnt see her coming and i tried to make a left turn. completely my fault. luckily, her jeep has the big metal bumper in front so it didnt do shit to her car. she was more concerned about my car. the miata didnt fare as well. well actually i'm not sure yet. the front bumper cover is fucked, there's some bent metal underneath, but i didnt really have a chance to take a good look cuz i was on my way to work. but it was such a low speed hit, that i doubt it did much else. i just turned around, parked it and hopped in the subaru. i'll need a new front bumper cover, i dont think it did anything to the bumper support. the front edge of the passenger side qpanel is slightly bent and the headlight might not be aimed correctly. like i said, i havent been able to check it out thoroughly, but i can probably get some long bolts, drill through the plastic bumper cover and secure it that way so its not floppin' around. do you guys think that it will still be track worthy seeing as how summit is only 4 days away? i know its hard to say since i dont ahve any pics and my description is vague, but i'm not very knowledgable on body work, so is there more serious shit i should be looking out for underneath?

when in doubt take the bumper cover off
you need to check it out and make sure its not too busted... and make sure your radiator is secure and not going to fall out
but then again you tech your own car anyway right?

I'd say there should be no problem getting it safe for Summit. A combo of some load bearing stickers, racers tape, bolts, and chewing gum should be able to hold up to 120mph!
Seriously, bring it, if only taped together. I'd be happy to help get it put together enough to run.

i doubt the radiator is off its support. i hit the corner of the car, and not full on, and at like 4 mph too. besides, if my radiator does fall out, i can just pull an RJ at shenandoah.

Don't forget Zip Ties. they are almost as handy as Duct Tape. I'd still make sure that the radiator is still secured well, but I'm sure you already have. When I put the new radiator in my race car,I wrapped some tie wire around it in a few spots. I remember RJ dropping his radiator on Shenandoah Circuit, and, while my car is far some the same as his, its an important part, and I race on a really rough dirt track,so I figure i wanted to save me $35 junkyard radiator as long as I could

Sorry to hear about this Maeng. I hope things don't fall apart at Summit. *crosses fingers for you*
