Dale Earnhardt, Ayrtton Senna, Jim Clark... the list is endless. Sometimes however, a lesser known name also dies in a support race and it's easy for that name to slip through the ether.
On Friday, in a support race to the legendary Australian motor race, the Bathurst 1000 around the famous Mount Panorama circuit, a 31 year old gentleman racer was involved in a dreadful, unfortunate side-on crash.

Mark passed away at 5:45pm, some 30 minutes after the Bathurst 1000 had finished. He had been on life support that whole time. Spare a thought for his wife and 1 year old child.
My main reason for posting this thread is to remind us all - side impacts remain the most dangerous impacts of all - even with the magnificent computer designed roll cages which go into modern race cars.
