What I detailed yesterday...Lotus ELISE!!!!

The paint seemed to be in pretty good condition. I did a full interior, and the outside was treated to gloss-enhancing products and no polish because I did not feel the vehicle needed it. This was a big help b/c the Elise supposedly has super hard clearcoats making it difficult and time consuming to correct paint. Unfortunately, the pics were taken before the car was completely done. I dressed the tires and the trim when I was finished taking pics. There was very little light as well. Lastly, my horrible picture taking skills created only a very few clear shots...the rest were very blury. More pics to come from the owner in a few days since he was going to take a photo shoot. Tips on getting non-blurry shots would be great!

Clay bar kit...Is this from mothers??? If so, I honestly don't recommend it. It is completely useless because it is too soft. I've tried it before and it takes forever to remove contamination. The clay I am currently using comes from here:

Today I spoke to the owner of the website, and there are no clay bars for sale on the website, but if you want the clay, just call the number on the website and he will order it for you. I use the grey clay, and I recommend the grey clay to you too. If you go this way, please let me know because I would like to order some too. Secondly, on a new thread I will try to create a group purchase of some high quality detailing supplies from them.

how to get clear shots? don't shake, exhale as you snap, maybe create a stabilizer by resting your elbow on something.

no, it's some company called Clay Magic. i have a feeling that if you don't recommend the Mothers, then this stuff probably isn't great shakes either.

i replied to your other thread, if the price of the clay isn't bad i might be down. does the clay come with lubricant too?

Clay magic is a reputable company. The clay bar that I would like to get, which I currently use, costed about $20. It's an excellent price when you consider the amount you get. It's probably a bit larger than the size of a deck of cards. It has lasted me at least 13 details. Good stuff indeed. Unfortunately, it does not come with lubricant, but definitely keep, and use the lubricant. Try the clay magic clay first and tell us the results. Pro tip...Be GENEROUS with the lubricant otherwise you can scuff the paint (I've done that myself by accident because I used a certain car wash soap as lube!!)

thanks for the advice Ciro. I think i'm going to nab a few products from that clearance so i can get at least a decent winter wash/wax done for both cars this year

ideally a tri-pod, but if you want to take good/clear shots without a flash you'll need proper lighting.

Wow, THose natives are tiny, lol. I go trout fishing quite a bit - most of the time stocked waters, sometimes natives. Natives are fun to catch, because it's sooooo easy compared to a stock trout - and they taste better, but they're so small. I went out to Montana a couple years ago fishing, it was pretty awesome. We caught some massive natives out there. I think I have some pictures somewhere, I'll post them up if I can find them.

if you don't mind small native brook trout (6-10 inches) there is an incredible stream that runs through little stony state park right out near VT. 2 miles of great trails and pretty aggressive brook trout. my favorite trout stream in the world

a 10" native is worthy of wall mount, around here anyway. I go a lot down in grayson highlands. They're my favorite, the water falls so much, and is very cold. The streams around here are more dip and go - gotta go out west to REALLY fly fish.

if you can get to shenandoah river this time of year you'll catch a solid smallmouth or two. better yet, get someone to give you their canoe!
