I'm not using this form of engine management anymore, so this is up for sale. I'm pretty sure the STi UTEC works on both the 2004 and 2005 STi.
I haven't looked through the box of uninstalled parts, but there should be everything you need to hook it up and transform your stock STi into the omfgst@gedSTi! I.E. all of the harnesses, etc. One thing it does not come with is the TurboXS ABC (boost control that allows you to switch boost levels through different maps without manually adjusting anything). You could probably get this through TurboXS, or run a manual boost controller like I did.
This also comes with the remote map selector, which looks like this:
![[Image: 326.gif]](http://www.turboxs.com/uploaded_images/326.gif)
It allows you to manually switch maps when you're under like 1500 rpms and fits right in one of your blank switch slots next to your Ebrake. It's pretty freakin sweet =D
This particular UTEC has a set of custom dyno tuned maps from TurboXS for my old setup (GT35R, TurboXS FMIC, 816cc injectors, etc etc). That's probably not going to do any of you all any good, but you can also download the latest UTEC software and base staged maps from the TurboXS website for free.
I can take pictures and stuff when I get back from the beach.
I'm asking $450, with the remote map selector, for any MM Subaru guy. If I put this on NASIOC, I'll probably ask $100 more.
A big bonus to this system IMO is that you can switch maps SO easily... even more easily than with an Accessport. TurboXS is not far away either, within an easy driving distance for a custom dyno/road tune

I tell you what. If you're seriously interested, and because there's no way I'll have it around that long, I'll do $400. That should give you the extra $50 in case you need to order the ABC or any other random bolts or parts to get it to work.
Don't get me wrong, this thing definitely works, it was just pulled out of my STi. I'm just figuring some bolts and such got lost in the uninstall. This also doesn't come with a user manual or tuning guide, but I'm pretty sure you can download both for free from TXS.
UTEC brand new, from the lowest NASIOC vendors, is like ~$900. If you ever chose a big turbo upgrade path, you could take the route I did and already have some custom maps for it (which cost me $450 for one tuning session =p)

Nice price Lee. If I knew more about that system I would jump all over it but I'm very content with my Cobb Accessport and its ease of use. Good luck with sale. I'm sure it will be no problem.
Hrm, apparently this will work on 2004-2005 Forester XTs, Legacy GTs, and Baja Turbos too! *cough* HAULNSS

Heh..I was just about to ask. I have heard of the Cobb Accessport...is this just a similar thing? If I bought it, would I even know WTF I am doing with it?

Its a bit different than the Cobb Accessport. The Cobb system is just a handheld unit that you can connect to the car and reflash the ECU. The TurboXS unit is a piggyback system that you connect and leave connected to your ECU and from there you can change maps accordingly that you have previously loaded. TurboXS unit gives you a lot more options but its a little less user friendly. That said, if somebody sat down and explained it to you.. you should be fine. They are very comparable units as far as performance is concerned. Lee knows way more about it than I do.
Did you really see any seat of the pants gain from your accessport? I mean...40hp which is what they claim, you should be able to feel. Is it even worth it?

Its definitely not going to register much extra power on the butt dyno but it does smooth out each and every gear as well as allow to boost longer and higher throughout the gears. Most gains are found in 4th, 5th, and 6th gear. For the money, the power improvement is minimal but the overall increase in driveability is much improved. I primarily got mine to be able to open up the exhaust in the near future and that will add significant hp and equal torque with EM... which will give you that seat of the pants power change. Hope this helps a bit. I got mine used for fairly cheap from a guy on the STi forums. This is all in regard to the Cobb system but the UTEC will be almost the exact same.
Yeah, thats kinda why I havent jumped on anything yet. I dont have any immediate plans for major upgrades, and I'm afraid it would just kind of be dormant until that time comes. As for driveablity, it's light years past my previous DD, so I dont know that I even need to mess with that yet either. If i was going to be doing something major in the near future, i'd probably jump on it, but i'm still in the "dont fuck up the warranty" stage of my tune.

One thing that I really do like about either system is that they are both completely reversible and don't take long to do so. So for warranty purposes I just unflash the Accessport from the computer or put it in stock mode before taking it in to the dealership... just something I figured I'd mention.
EDIT: Sorry for jacking your thread Lee.
Nah, it's cool Shea. He's absolutely right. Both the AP and UTEC are completely reversible as far as warranty items are concerned, and both give you the potential for adding pretty much any aftermarket parts you want (with custom tunes). Both have a pretty limited upgrade path you can take as far as base maps go, but with dyno tunes, both forms of EM have really good potential.
You can do a couple of really cool things with the UTEC like launch control and flat foot shifting (I think these are add-ons).

i guess thats my problem. i dont think i need a utec or ap because i dont have any mods. ideally yes i want the suby to breathe better and intake and exhaust generally free up a ton of power with the proper tune. but that right there is like over $1k and that could buy me a pretty bling suspension on the miata. i think it'd bad to buy the exhaust without buying the utec, but not worth buying the utec alone, but buying both at the same time is $$$$, arg damnit, i just want lots of money.

I just found a catless Stromung 2.5" downpipe on NASIOC for $175. Don't let the price of a downpipe fool you, that's all you need for stage 2
Other mods and a dyno tune can always come later if you get bored with 300awhp

It's going on NASIOC tonight for a hundred bucks more, but I'll keep this price open to you all in case you decide to modify
