Class Project

I'm doing a business plan for a class, which is going to be a plan for an indoor karting facility like G-force. Since I know you all have nothing else to do, I thought I'd throw a few questions up that you may be able to answer. Links to sites are fine, thanks. I'll prob post more as I go and let you know how the final turns out.

What is the historical background of this type of business (karting in general and indoor karting facilities)?

what is the current status of the karting industry?



Oh yeah, if you feel like posting and saying why don't you just search yourself, please don't bother. I'm just looking for everyone else's knowledge.

i tried to get my group to do a kart facility. and a ricer shop (go-fast parts place) for COB 300, but nobody else wanted to. Losers.

your initial expenses will be incredible, but I think it is a feasible project.

kart facility? huge initial investment? where? 10 karts, a warehouse, barriers, 10 helmets. what am i missing? oh yeah insurance.

Sounds like a great idea for a project. The old Mall-mart is available, as are a few wearhouses south of town. Call them up and see what the rent is, then subtract at least 10-20% because these guys bargin like crazy.

Get in touch with the guy form AllSports GP in NOVA and see if you can take him to lunch and talk about his business. Say its for a class project, "and that you have no intensions of actually doing it" and he probably won't care too much.

As for the business plan side, you're in the project so you probaby won't need to much help there. Focus on the challenges that he has faced, what sort of relationships he has with his vendors, and what marketing tools he uses. Focus on reoccuing income, like subscriptions or non-contract subscriptions like annual meetings of groups. That makes budgeting much easier.

Yeah, I know he wasn't, but the more realistic he makes it, the better the project...

haha, its not too hard until the end of semesters. Thats when I always have crazy projects.

oh no way! lots of charts and graphs and tax form example sheets... theres a fair amount of writing though
