A new suspension?

These are for sale used on turbododge.com. Yes I know they are not engine related and will not really help the car get on the road any faster. But I am making money and the car won't make it anywhere until summer anyway. So I think I should grab deals, no? These retail for $1000ish new w/o shipping. This seller (a TD old-timer) says they were on a C/S Daytona for less then 1K miles. He asked $750 shipped in the thread but here is a piece of a PM from him...

"The best I can do would be $700 shipped, which, when considering the shipping cost of the bundle, is a nice deal. These are very nice parts, and I wasn't just being smarmy saying I'd use them on an '89 Daytona myself. I traded my '89 Daytona Shelby away after people kept running into it, and I really really miss it.

Having the Konis/Eibach setup on my Automatic Shelby Lancer, I can also attest to the quality of the ride. I've never heard anything BAD about the combo, but I really like it as an all-around great set-up of great handling and comfortable ride."

So what do you guys think? I'm almost sure I wanna go for it.

What are the spring rates? Id say go wtih them but 750? for eibach pro-kits and koni reds used? Is that actually a good deal? I dunno, dsms are cheap I can get a coilover system new with pillowball upper mounts and 32 way adjustability for that price (50-150 dollars more if you dont know the right people).

Why dont you just try to get some gc (eibach) coilover springs or any good coilover springs for your car (gc are the best coilover springs for our car) and make sure to get custom spring rates and then get some used konis and get em revalved for those custom spring rates. Tadaa! perfect system for under a grand! Dont get a setup that is a compromise (off-the-shelf spring rates) get one that is perfect for your needs and wants. Then you wont end up selling em for something later on.

Ehh, decided to pass on this. The Konis new are like 6 Something so for 700 its like just getting the springs for free. The funny part is those springs are not made for Daytona but will work on one. They are supposed to sit funny on the car so I wasn't going to be using them anyway. I'm just gonna wait and buy new ones and use my Shelby springs minus 1 coil. Track it some. Then cut the spring perches off and go w/ GC.
