Bikes Indoors

I've noticed a lot of you MM guys seem to keep your bikes indoors (han for example). Do you have problems with odors?

I brought my GS inside for like 30 minutes and my entire apartment reaked of gasoline.

I never did it for that reason. Not a big fan of breathing in petroleum odors while I sleep Smile

well they r not very fond of ppl keeping their bikes indoors here in colleg housings..i have my bikes parked under the stair way in southview,,,,the fire marshell showed upwith a tow truck,,,,it was good that the idiot did not know that the bike was in gear and the handles were locked so they could not get it out...so the guy gave me a warning and left...but ya its parked out now....and i guess the best way to reduce the smell is put a towel in the exhaust...and if u have a carborated bike....best of luck

Nope, didnt have problems with odors. I just use a rag to block the exhaust..well...my exhaust outlet is HUGE. Havent had any complaint from my landlord of the maintenance guys. I guess they dont really care about me or something.
Oh, maybe your bike is running way too rich on fuel....thats why its stinking up the whole apt when u bring it in. If not, leave it out for like 20,30minutes b4 u roll it in.

I was talking to Rob when I picked up the ZX6R and he told me that the key is to let the carb floats drain, ie turn off the fuel petcock and idle the bike for a little bit.

That seems to work in case anyone else is interested.
