Sweet specs, maybe I'll be in the market for another sports car by then! Of any domestic beside a Vette, that would be the one I'd want.
Any word on estimated price of those?

at least 10 grand more than that. these will be snatched up fast and dealers will mark them up, being collector items and all.
i like the shelby but from everything i've read the weight distribution is even worse and the dry weight will be well north of 3500 pounds.

I like the look of the new mustang, but what did they do to the front of this one to make it look like a sad fish? :dunno:
Theyve already done reviews of them. The convertible is going to be 4100 POUNDS!!!!! ridiculous. The coupe is only like 150-200 pounds lighter. Theyre heavier than the regular ones because they have so much in them.

Why don't we change the topic title to Detroit Auto Show unveilings since there is a lot of new stuff coming out and it'd be easier than starting a new thread?
I agree, a bit porky but I imagine it won't be too bad compared to the Challenger at least, although the GT OH is quite a bit lighter. I'd love to see one of those in race trim in World Challenge GT or maybe in ALMS GT. I wonder how much weight is from stuff you don't need?

I've gotta say they did an excellent job of evolving the looks of the G35 without f-ing it up. Looks rather sexay.

I liked that they called it a 'G Coupe'. That leaves the engine options open, and what Infiniti could really use is a G45 with a 6 speed or a DSG. I wonder how such an animal would effect the sales of the "Skyline"? Frankly, I'd rather see a 450Z or G45 than a GT-R.
What I'm looking forward to is the unveiling of the Hyundai Coupe' replacement, or this mysterious Hyundai rear-drive platform. I could really see a 25,000 dollar rear-drive Hyundai V8 sports coupe showing some people how they do it in Korea.

As if we really need anymore evidence testifying to how influential Chris Bangle's designs have become. Some people hate, some people hate, but no one can deny Bangle's influence.
I personally think the G Concept is sexy, a marked improvement on an already great looky car.
*edited* suppose to say: some people like, some people hate

Not to mention that some people, crazy as they are, hate.

Eh I don't see any Bangle influence there at all. No flame surfacing no incongruent lines, no eyebrow headlights *shrugs*
Now I'd like to see Hyundai make a Korean muscle car...

It wouldn't surprise me at all. The Coupe' (Tiberon, Tuscany) is pretty much well-recieved all over the world, and with the rear drive luxury line coming down the pipe in '07 (I think) it'd be a pretty minor thing to shorten it and put their concept 4.5 quad cam under the hood. (Or, for such low production, have someone like Suzuki make a nice V6 or V8). Frankly, if the price were right, I'd buy it. You would need to keep it around or (preferabl) under 30 thousand, but at least you don't have a model to cannabalize sales. (Like certain other auto manufacturers.) Making it around 25-27 thousand would draw the Evo/STi/Mustang crowd pretty easily...especially with the 10/100 warranty. Hell, I'd consider it.
Frankly, with Hyundai taking about a rear drive luxo platform, the red Buick phone in Lutz' office ought to be ringing off the hook.

Come on G, the stretched headlights and taillights, The pronounced, undulating crease running the length of the car. Those are all elements of Bangle's design.
Two feet.
I like it but I prefer the old style. It just seems like they are making a coupe out of the Q45, it doesn't have its own unique look to it.
I am sure it weighs a lot too
