OK, with the advent of a new year, time to spill the beans on your planned 2006 schedule. My is pretty limited thus far, but will be expounded upon as time goes on...
2/11-2/12 VIR Full - TZC/THSCC
3/4-3/5 Summit - CarGuys (tentative - may be in CA on business, perhaps something at Laguna / Sears Point?)
4/8-4/9 VIR North - TZC/THSCC
4/21-4/23 Mid-Ohio - NASA (tentative based on past years experience w/ weather)
6/3-6/4 Summit - Ferrari Club
6/17-6/18 VIR Grand East - Mazda Drivers
7/3-7/3 Watkins Glen - CarGuys (tentative - may do VIR w/ Chin Motorsports)
7/29-7/30 VIR North - NASA
9/16-9/17 Mid-Ohio - NASA (pending released Nationals schedule)
10/14-10-15 VIR Full - CarGuys
11/11-11/12 Summit (either with CarGuys or NASA)
12/9-12/10 VIR Full - Chin Motorsports
In 2005, I tried three new tracks - Road Atlanta, Barber, and Nurburgring. In 2006 I'd like to add Road Atlanta, Mosport, and Mont Tremblant. Those tracks will likely be done under the stewardship of PCA or BWMCCA, but I am still researching their schedules (it's quite difficult with so many regions). If anybody knows of two events that are back-to-back at Mosport and Mt. Tremblant, please let me know as I'd like to make it a road trip.
Also plan on getting my SCCA Comp License in March once I find more info - hope to buy a ride in an enduro car at some point this season.
05 S/C "Elixige"
07 Mazda 3S - commuter car
99 YZF-600R - commuter bike
My schedule this year is going to be pretty limited with my first year racing and truck purchase expenses - I wont have the budget to do too much. So I'm looking at:
Feb. 17 at VIR - Comp School Friday Only, no racing, NASA
May 6-7 at Carolina Motorsports Park, NASA
June 12-13 at Gingerman, ITR Expo 6
July 3-4 at Watkins Glen, Carguys
July 8-9 at Summit Point Raceway (Hyper-Fest 06), NASA
July 28-30 at VIRginia International Raceway, NASA
Aug. 12-13 or 26-27 at Summit Point Raceway, NASA
Sept. 11-17 NASA Nationals at Mid-Ohio, NASA
Oct. 14-15 at Summit Point Raceway, NASA
Nov. 11-12 at Summit Point Raceway, NASA
I may do 2-3 more DE weekends instructing with Carguys, Mazdadrivers or Audi club but we'll see how the budget looks. I'm definately doing watkins glen, but I'd also like to do another new track as well, since my goal every year is to drive 2 new tracks.
One thing I am looking forward to is not really starting my season until May - I'll be using the 2.5 months between VIR and CMP to do other shit, let the car sit in the garage, save some money, etc. Same with fewer events.... will be nice to relax on the track stuff for a while, with the car already built. My only task next year is to rebuild my spare engine.

Dependant on work but in terms of what I'm actively planning/prepping for is
VIR/Tarheel Feb 2/11-12
VIR/NASA Feb 2/18-19
Two feet.
My schedule is a very easy one. . . . if it's a NASA-MA event I'll be there working. As for driving, I am going to try and drive at the SP August event, or the VIR North event in July.

No, the s2k will not see the track, and I will likely be only doing one of those July events. I don't like back-to-backers. I'm also very tentative on the March event...

I am surprised at how far everyone is traveling to places like Mid-Ohio, CMP, and Watkins Glen. It would be hard for me to travel that far in a weekend.

says the guy that hasnt driven on track. we've said it for years now, its a damn drug that we're all hooked on. i havent decided which events i'm doing, but at some point this year, i would like to try carguys or audiclub, but i will most likely do most of the nasa-ma events.

Hell it's an addiction for those of us who don't drive. I'm going to work events at CMP and Mid-Ohio this year.
Matt: Have you seen a more detailed schedule for the Nationals in Sept?

A better question would be, is nasa oh/in running nasa nationals?

take out the tentative/unlikely and its not even that agressive of a schedule
w00t! Found a PCA event at Mosport 9/23-9/24 followed by an Audi Club event 9/30-10/1. Should be a pretty time of year up there with the onset of autumn... not sure about rain though. Looks like a potential vacation for me...
