--new thread because i lost the old one and am too lazy to find it

Guys, I just checked the place out and it looks good. Realtor said it has been empty for a while so we could make a lower offer and it would likely be accepted.

It gets my seal of approval so you guys ought to go check it out. It has TONS of space to store shit and I claim the room upstairs on the right Smile

BTW, we need a fourth. It is Gerald, BJ, and myself. Who is in? No pigs need apply. You are expected to clean up after yourself and I assume we'll have a chore rotation to ease the basics.

My plan is to park the truck at the parent's house when I don't need it so it'll be racecar, street kaa, and trailer. I'd park the trailer on the street.

What kind of room is there in the area around the detached garage? Is there parking space for a few cars?

Oh, and what's the address so I can map it ("Google Maps is the best, true dat! Double True!").

Yeah, having lived in that neighborhood in the past, all you busted pile junkies are going to have fun finding adequate street parking.

not in front of the house, street is probably too narrow.

Just got a realtor hookup from a coworker. He gave me some listings for several other houses in the area for around the price range we're looking for and some of them look like they have good parking.

Here's a link he gave me:

Yeah, I'm BJ.

So it's a total of 6 cars so far? (2 me, 2 Mike, 2 Gerald) That's nuts. And awesome.

Mike, is there a reason that it's been empty? Is it shitty or something? I'll try and go peek in the windows tomorrow. But I'm ready to sign a lease yesterday. When are you guys available to move in?

i'm trying to stay under 700 if at all possible...

my thoughts (bolded the ones worth a look):

1) not wanting to spend that much
2) i like, if we could get a 5th, but that is a lot of people under one roof Tongue
3) no
4) smallish bedrooms, pricey
5) not bad, but i'd rather cheaper... worth a look
6) that is the one i looked at today. i liked it, you guys should check it out.
7) not enough info
8) i dig, but i'd rather cheaper
9) no... carport? pft
10) that is fucking sweet, definitely need to check it out
11) too much
12) realtor took me to that one today before she knewa garage was necessary
13) no garage
14) no garage
15) no garage
16) no garage
17) doesn't look like good parking situation
18) that is right where my friends live... the garage listed is a community underground one. too much money anyway, but really freaking nice place
19) looks kinda cool, but pricey
20) same as 18
21) pricey and i have a feeling the bedrooms are small (4 on upper level)
22) no garage
23) no garage

i can store my civic a few miles away in a garage... it is safer there so i'm not too concerned about getting it at the house. that said, we can figure the parking out no problem assuming gerald doesn't need all like 15 of his vehicles and the trailer.

she didn't give me a reason. she said she has done some decent work to it... painted, tiled some stuff, replaced the front railings, had the landscaping done (said girls lived there before and didnt have a alwnmower), and will be putting some carpet in the basement bedroom. i saw some minor things that needed to be done (paint, install shit around the doors to keep the air from leaking out), but it seemed like a pretty solid house considering it was built in the 1950s.

i too am ready to move whenever.

I think 8 is one we should really check out and 2 and 10 are also good prospects for my money.

I might run by and check out our first option tomorrow.

Went over and looked at it real quick today. Couldn't tell much from looking in the windows, but it looked alright. Kitchen is tiny though (does the fridge door even open all the way?). I'd say it's good, but might be tight in terms of parking, considering there will be 5-6 cars.

I'd live there, but I say we check out the other places too.

there is a second kitchen downstairs, but yeah, the upstairs one is tight. 2 cars in garage, 2 in driveway, 1 on street? not a biggy.

I checked a few prospects out today. I would've gone to the place you guys checked out but I forgot that the address was in the link I posted.

Found this on CL today: http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/apa/121877370.html
This place would totally meet our parking needs and then some. Just roughly estimating we'd probably have room for 6-8 cars. It looked a bit smallish from the outside though, so that might be an issue. It is close to East Falls Church metro so that's a plus for me.

This was one of the places I got from the real estate listings. I couldn't really see inside and the backyard was fairly unremarkable, but had decent room. The garage looked pretty nice and with the driveway and street parking I estimate there's room for 5-7 cars.

This place was seriously pimp. I didn't think much of it from the picture in the listing but it is a very, very nice pad. Parking is probably the tightest at this one, at best I estimate maybe 6 or 7 cars, which would be fine except its a 5 bedroom house.

We could maybe negotiate the price down to make it $700 ea for 4 but I don't know if parking would work out. Its also decently far from a metro stop, definitely not walking distance.
