I got the desktop hooked up to wireless now, so last night I d/l AIM so I can stop squinting at my laptop screen and use that all the time instead - however the 'new' aim is this god awful flaming homsexual piece of dogshit.

Its ugly. Its complicated. It gives me a headache. I like 'regular' IM without any toys, bells, interactiveflashallovermyscreenads, 437 emoti-icons, etc....
Unless there is a better IM program I can use for AIM, that'd be good too.

Better anyways - get rid of all those crappy addons that AIM comes with. It works if you have already installed AIM too.

GAIM sucks major ass - profiles donÔÇÖt display correctly and screen names corrupt when you use the mouse scroll wheel. AIM with ad hack is the way to go ÔÇô full compatibility and functionality of real AIM and none of the ads / marketing software. I'm with you though - Triton blows, if simply because of the fact that aolsoftware.exe doesn't quit when you exit AIM and sucks 10meg of resources for no reason at all.

gaim does that in a far less bloated way.
