Im sorry, im sure this is old and a lot of you have seen it, but I felt the need to post this. Ive watched this like 2 times and in a row and im in love with it. Im sure it's not in real time, but its still badass none the less.

It is real time, and it's tuned to "Wizards in Winter", performed by the trans-siberian orchestra.
For what it's worth, the music in that video is dubbed in later, but it is definitely real-time.
It's computer controlled. We did that kind of thing at Garrett College with light controllers for theater. I wasn't in the theater class, but a friend of mine ran the lights, and had to time the lights to music automatically using a controller for a semester project.

I also worked with the Red Cross and a christmas light display they did...we had a similar thing.
