Compression check help
#1
Does anyone have a compression tester and know how to use it? I think I have broken ringlands in at least 1 cylinder (for those of you who read my idle problem post about a month ago, I think this is one of the causes). I would be willing to compensate anyone who can help im just not looking to pay a mechanic price as I am on a tight budget. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Go buy one - they are ~$20 at any auto parts store. To use it, remove all spark plugs from engine, screw the tester into one of the plug holes, hold the throttle to the floor and crank the engine for 5 revolutions. Write down number on gauge. Go to the next cylinder and repeat.

Disable the fuel injectors as well - its a honda, so there should be a 'EFI' or 'ECU' fuse in the underhood fuse box. Pull that out.

For what reason. I really doubt that few revolutions will cause any problems w/ fuel washing the cylinder walls - more damage would occur after an oil change if you didn't fill the filter.

I've never filled the filter with oil before and have also had no problems. I don't really see the point in filling the filter.

Why? When you extensively modify a car you have to be ready for things like this. What kind of tuning was done on the car?

well it's been doing this since a week after i got it back from the shop getting a full engine and tranny swap fully dyno tuned with standalone. they told me it was a safe tune and the motor shouldnt have any problem at that power level. so i kind of expected it to last more than a week.
