My phone finally died this weekend. In mourning of my pimp V60 from 5 years ago, I have to look forward to the next pimp phone as I will have it for a long time (the equivilent time of 27 different cars)
I want a Razor V3.
Black or Silver?
Other thing...does any one know anything about letstalk.com...they have a rebate to get the razor for free.
Give me some feedback...ye who buy phones as often as I buy cars.

A lot of my coworkers are swiping Blackberrys off of eGay nearly new for less than half the cost. eGay seems to be the way to go if you can tell the phone is nearly new. Unlike devices like Blackberrys, most mobile phones aren't designed to last more than 2 years though (many have an estimated life cycle of less than 18 months) - so it could be a crapshoot.

IMO, there is just too many sketchy agreements and terms involved in cell phones to buy one from a lesser known online retailer. Cell phones and service are one thing that I go to a brick and mortar store for. But if you want to take the risk on ordering one online, just make sure to read through all the fine print and contract terms very closely. Twice.
my good luck streak with phones has run out and it looks like Ill have to buy a new one, but since Im under contract for another year I wont get the nice phone discount. Ebay here I come
I would be weary of the Razr, I was looking very heavily at those a month ago and heard that for some people they are very fragile and most places won't give you any inssurance on them. However as far as a good deal goes slickdeals has one for -$25, yes that is a negative sign

My girlfriend bought a motorola off ebay, it worked poorly at best almost immediately. She couldn't return, but she went to Verizon, negotiated with them, and got motorola e815 for free after rebate. If you read reviews, the Razr is poop but it's looks make up for all of it.

I bought my Suncom phone from Letstalk (anyone else read that as Let Stalk?) and it worked smashingly, the rebate went smoothly, and I had no problems.
That being said, isn't the Razr only for Verizon or some goofy shit? Honestly, I look more at plan coverage, minutes per dollar, and customer service. (Can I bitch out a local store, or must I bitch someone out on the telephone?)
I have NTelos, and frankly, everywhere I go it works great.

Sprint is the worst period. The Razr is only available for Cingular or any GSM/Sim card networks. Verizon will get the Razr in early 2006

There are a couple issues with buying phones online, but it's going to depend on your provider. I've had friends that purchased them online and the phone was crappy when they started using it. They called their provider and were basically told they were SOL because they didn't purchase through an authorized dealer. Another thing is that you can't get the insurance on a phone you purchased through a third party. Like Evan said, phones is something I go to the actual retailer for and just deal with it if I get screwed.
Amazon.com for phones is great. I got my SE T637 and ATT (cingular) plan for -$125. I cracked the screen a couple months in... called ATT, and got a new one sent overnight to me. It's a big name, and they have GREAT deals.
Currently, the black RAZR is free with cingular. Enjoy.
