if i can handle everything from cnn, e!, nfl, reuters, time warner, bbc, ap, mtv, aol, and many more... i think i can handle your weak-assed 200mb track video as an input.

you've been workign there what, a week? you're an expert cuz they gave you the tour of the building!
its apples and oranges anyway. transforming and archiving some talking head media for streaming into a bunch of shitty formats is a far cry from a good quality high motion video compression tech. There simply doesnt exist a better high quality compression algorithm at this point than the Divx Pro stuff.
so piss off!
hehe you're lost... working there a week? what does that have to do with anything? i can install the system anywhere you'd like in a matter of mintes.
transforming and archiving media? you mean compressing and saving? yeah, that's the same thing you do when you "encode" a video on your home computer and put it in c:\bleh\vidz. we've got all the encoders, and all the options. try me
simply put, you could send me your raw footage and i could have it encoded in ANY QUALITY/FORMAT YOU WANT in seconds.

agreed, but divx isn't always a great answer when you're trying to reach a large audience. it is a 3rd party codec that does not come standard with anything. if your user isn't computer-saavy, they won't see your video.

whoopee shit. It doesnt make a damn bit of difference if you can do it before you finish jacking off, Im not talking speed, Im talking quality.
Premiere will compress in any format too, hell any damn program will compress in any format you have the codec or dll for.
Good quality video compression takes many passes, and quite a few settings and tweaks depending on the type of video and output/size you want. not just some DirectX wrapper GUI that knows how to use whatever codecs you throw at it and compress it for streaming.
edit: less hate
right.
in closing, i can do it faster.

I dont disagree with that, and thats what your companies software is fantastic at Im sure,
but we are talking about track video, where I can say "you need divx codec to see this get it here" and not worry about alienating 1000 users on some web broadcast. and I dont mind it taking 12 hours while i sleep/work to compress an hour of video, because Im not encoding 50 hours of video at a time.
like i said, we are talking apples and oranges here
your software may be fast, it may stream great, but I gaurantee you it isnt setup for high motion, multi-pass, high resolution video
