Whats up guys,

My name is Joash. Some of you might've met me at the Student Organization Night. I've been searching through the forums and it seems like you guys know your stuff and are pretty serious with cars. I used to be die hard car guy, not so much anymore. Regardless, I'm still interested in being somewhat involved. I can't afford to pay for tires so I doubt I can autox often. Still, I'd love to come out to track meets and autocrosses to watch.
I just wanted to introduce myself and I look forward to meetin up with you guys.

Just to open up, I drive a Mazda6i.

good to hear from you Joash. hope to see you at the events we tend.

don't worry about the car situation....a few members do not even have cars but what is important is wanting to be involved and being willing to learn and have fun. alot of the events we attend/work at are very cool to simply be apart of. you'll learn much more from the meetings so i'll stop my rant Big Grin

nice car btw. mazda 6's are a car i've always admired, and it sounds like it looks pretty hot with the drop/tint.

What does this do?

On the SHO it results in better throttle response and hotter ignition, as the DIS (ignition module) is located on the intake manifold and draws power from it, and the one ground cable that attaches the manifold to the frame sucks.

Oh, and welcome to the club Joash :beer:

What if you fixed the ground thats supposed to be doing the work in the first place so its not all corroded and busted?

What if you shut the hell up :finger: I never said they got corroded and busted. The wire is thin and the contact point sucks. By grounding to the block (where there is a 4ga ground connected directly from the battery to a bolt on the starter) the wire path is ->

Battery - 4ga -> block -> 4ga (my addition) -> Intake MF

Stock is ->

Battery -> 12ga (rather thin) -> Chassis -> Shitty thin braded wire held on by M6 metal screw -> Intake MF

haha thanks guys.

yeah to be perfectly honest, the throttle body ground on my car does jack shiet. its a 15'' piece of 4ga battery cable that runs from the negative terminal to the throttle body. the 6 is obviously throttle-by-wire and there is definitely an annoying throttle lag. thus, people figured it might help. well, it didnt. i just took 2 seconds out of my day to install it and i'm too lazy to take it out, so it's in there as a "mod".
