Sup all,
I go to JMU (currently not in MM obviously), but I was wondering if you guys have any advice abouting finding sport bikes in the Harrisonburg area. I'm from NOVA, so I usually use craigslist to browse for bikes when I'm there, but there is no craigslist I'm aware of for Harrisonburg. Ebay rarely has any decent bikes within 50 miles, and right now I'm car-less, so going to NOVA/DC to buy a bike would be difficult.
I have no experience with motorcycles as of now, but I'm taking the MSF course at Blue Ridge in 2 weeks and would like to purchase a bike soon afterwards.
Thanks,
Ross
You're gonna have a hard time finding good bikes in the HBG area but there are plenty of people in the club that would be willing to take road trips to go look at bikes in Nova, Richmond, or wherever.

that's exactly what i was thinking before reading your post.
browsing bikes in nova would not be an issue. hell, you might even be able to get a ride to another state if you pay for gas

When are you not looking to hoopup mmers? Hehe. 749cc might be a little but much for a first time guy learning to ride on bikes . As said before, look around the NOVA area, and find something you're comfortable with. If anything me or other guys from NOVA can bring you up there if you get a good deal. Best of luck, and if you find something, you know damn well im gonna be begging to get the first "ride" after you =D

Could you possibly quote me a price?

No, can't seem to find any information. I just personally don't like them and they are not very popular with people. GSX-Rs are usually chosen by people who want Suzukis.

the only complaint i've heard about the katana's are that they're ugly. I think they're solid bikes from reviews in mags and bike forums. The only bike that i've heard complaints from are:
Ducati's -- maintenance nightmare's
Triumph's -- engine / tranny failure or major maintenance needed in a short lived life
other than those in particular i think everything else is subjective.
i wouldn't say a 750 is too much for a starter, i think it depends on who's riding. If you're mature enough and you grasp the ideas of the physics of motorcycle riding i think a beginner can handle it. Being cocky however does not count, Darwin will get you.
