A huge step back from the previous design... Cry But sadly.. I'm sure it will grow on me like the '04-'05s did.

Sounds like Splat was talking about the B9 Tribeca. The front end on the new STi looks alright but what is going on with the rear?

Maybe I am strange but the sight of all those Photographers pushed my "Stereotype Button" and I cracked up. Cool vid though.

i kinda like the front light assembly and the outer edges of the front end. I do NOT like the inner grill, they should've just left it open...would've looked a lot better. I also don't like the clear taillights.

oh yeah, needs a bigger wing.

grille looks horrible. i like the rest, and clear tailights is a trend that i can't believe car designers are still following

It looks fuckin retarded in my opinion. I saw a Tribeca outside of Purcellville the other day and my brother and I literally shook our heads at its ridiculous road presence. I sat in one at a car show, you feel like you're enclosed in a little spaceship capsule... it's really weird.

Yet another reason why I'm contemplating adding the EVO instead of the STI to my next car list.

In all seriousness, the EVO really is overall a better performing car than the STI. Much much easier to make really good power/speed out of too. A friend of mine who helped me with my last install has an 04 MR. All he's done was an intake, cams, and a custom tune at vishnu and his car put down 308hp at the wheels, 349ish on race gas.

A Camaro redneck mocked him recently, saying there's no way a foreign 4-banger could hang with American muscle OR run in the 12s. So they took it to the track, literally. The Camaro ran a 13.1, my Chris's EVO ran a 12.2 =p 8)

Duh, that's why they are kicking the shit out of everything else at the autocrosses! For some reason though I don't see as many at the track as WRX's/STi's. Weird.

Does that kid have a Red EVO MR and work at carmax? I instructed a kid, I think his name was Chris, at Summit Shenandoah earlier this year whose MR had similar numbers.

Although I would disagree with you bigtime that the EVO is a better car. I really dont care much about big numbers or drag racing though, so maybe the EVO is better for that.

I lik eit, the split grill is a bit odd though. a few new cars have that looking style on tgrill. The headlights are nice, never a huge fan of the bugeyes.

I'll have to see more before i can figure out a full opinion.

Eh? Stock for stock the Evo wins in the twisties by most measures too. My major problem with the Evo is its poor reliability.

Im dissapointed in you G, you should know better than to make silly magazine racing comparisons Wink

Most of the favorable press that the Evo has gotten has centered around the better feel of the car. Quicker rack, better seats, etc. Perceived improvements, not real performance improvements. Any real track car has buckets anyway.
Ill take the STi with lower overall weight, better weight distribution, not to mention front diff, 6spd/short gears, and (IMO) much better suspension. EVO MR starts to bring things up to the STi level, but by then you are also pushing up the price.

Yup, that's him. Real nice guy.

Did any of you guys ever watch the Top Gear with the EVO vs. STI shootout? I seem to remember the STI having way more understeer (?) than the EVO, and lost out around their track to it. I think the overall fit and finish of the interior of the STI is nicer than the EVO, aside from the fucking retarded pink everywhere you look heh.
