Looking for a decent shop in NoVa
#1
I need to put in my "new" tranny (LSD + 4.9 FD). The tranny is assembled, I'm just running short on time (and motivation) and I'd like to get it in early next week before I roll out for road atlanta. I may end up getting it done myself - but if I cant, anyone know of a decent shop in NoVa that can knock this out for a reasonable price?

Jess said "ew, what is that". And I honestly have no clue. Explain torque arm? And why would its bushing melt under normal use?

A torque arm is a type of suspension, sort of an alternative to a 4-link (stock), 3 link or Z link. Think of it as a 3 link except upside down. This is what it looks like installed,

It is the long black thing (no jokes please). The bushing is at the top that is inserted (again, no jokes) into the black crossmember. I don't know if what you call what I do with my mustang 'normal use' but I'm guessing (more hoping) that it melted due to the exhaust problems I experenced at VIR (RE: http://mmsports.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2687)

When I called MM they were like, you did what? Apparently this has never happened. So they are going to send me (2) new ones of higher durometer poly. We'll see  haha

If you didnt have a stick axle pos you wouldnt have to re-injuneer the suspension to make it work half assed Wink

Kims auto in annandale always did good work for cheap on Allison's integra. Although nothing as heavy duty as a trans install so YMMV
