I bet my unsprung clutch is fuxoring up my tranny

Is it? stage 3 clutchmaster pressure plate, 6 puck unsprung.

Deciding whether to do my exhaust or replace the clutch first.

Uh, what is the problem?

The springs in the clutch only damp out torsional vibrations from the engine - thats it - at most you will get an increase in NVH without them.

i would think your cv's would take more of a beating than the tranny. i wouldnt worry about it.

if you do your exhaust, here is a quick warning. HPD loves to pick out loud hondas for noise violations. seriously...ask Jay (he has a 99 Si, you've probably seen it), he used to have a Greeddy SP and was pulled twice for it. with court fees it was like 70 bucks each time. and his one dyno pull proved it only added 1 wheel horsepower. not worth it i think.

Well, the CV's will take a beating no matter what kind of clutch you have if you drive like an asshat.

I can't help but launch like as asshat with this damned clutch

Anyways, as for exhaust, I'll be getting an RSR. Supposedly quiet.

Why'd you get such an aggressive clutch for a daily?

And Scott's right. Getting any exhaust isn't worth it until you get some other power adders.

Kteller.com sells some nice exhaust stuff for pretty cheap plus you can customize what you want.

i'm kinda familiar with chris' senario and i say take care of the exhaust problem first if it's giving you some issues. If the clutch is really bothering you then opt to replace that in the near future, but the HPD do love to target honda's with loud exhaust systems (or mildly loud)

<-- very glad my greddy evo was removed and the stocker was put back on. Didn't feel a difference in power and the intake makes enough sounds to satisfy the ricer inside me when i'm on full throttle....then when i'm off the gas it's quiet as can be Big Grin (not to mention the significantly less sound on the highway)

The RS-R is definitely quiet... I've got the ExMag for my Accord and nobody knows it's aftermarket unless I tell them. Never heard one word about it from anybody.

But yeah, what's the matter with your transmission?

I think he's asking if the unsprung is messing up his trans, just the way the clutch is [I drove it] it jerks, etc when letting it out. Not really a friend daily clutch..

get an exedy and be done with it..

Getting an aftermarket exhaust because my stock exhaust is all kinds of weird. Seems like it's missing flanges, it rattles like hell, the cat is gutted and bolted on weird.

I have a mangaflow on my hatch. Looks great, but still too loud even with a resonator.

Should be getting my new Exedy clutch kit in 2 weeks. Anyone know where I can get my flywheel resurfaced for cheap? Or find a new flywheel for cheap?
(the car came like this, just got it a month ago)

Take the exhaust to Murph's Muffler. He'll fix whatever for relatively cheap. Why not buy an Fidanza flywheel? I think it's only 200 bucks now. A chromoly would be ideal but those things are like 300 bucks.

Found a clutchmasters flywheel for less than $200. I think the most inexpensive route is to get a milder replacement clutch disc.

I got quoted $130 for an ACT street disc. Now... will this disc work fine with my clutchmasters pressure plate?

It will work fine but the pedal effort will still be high.

The stage 3 Pressure plate isn't really noticeable compared to a stock pressure plate. Can you can get CM stage 3 sprung disc?

Fidanza & CM flywheels are identical. They could be made by different folks but the replacement friction discs are the same. Some models use different number of bolts.
