anyone know of good jobs in the area of the burg?

I’ve put my two weeks in at Dynamic Aviation in b'water. I was basically lied too and can't take it anymore. My title there was "mechanics helper", but 60% of my work has turned into housekeeping. I was not told of this during the interview. I was told, however, that maybe from time to time, I would have to clean the bathroom in a building that is separate from the main building. Mainly because of that fact. Since Nov it has gone from that, to "I need you to clean the bathrooms everyday when you come in". Vacuuming, dusting, sweeping and taking out trash that the "real" housekeeper can't seem to get to the dumpsters, has become my work. Now while I’m working with the guy in the vehicle bay, doing "mechanics helper" duties. Servicing company cars/trucks/vans, and things of that nature, things are good. Then when my immediate super walks in, things go down hill fast.

So, I need a job, any leads out there?

That sucks man. Way to stand up for yourself. Maybe you can submit applications for all the dealerships around here. You might get some bites.

I need to try that. Most of the time though, they seem to be looking for certified mechanics. I really want to get into computers though. I know it was a small, maybe even useless step. But I’ve taken an A+ cert class at Massenutten Tech. I was enrolled for Net+/Server+ , but only two of us signed up, so now I’m waiting for fall classes. I haven't taken the tests for my A+ cert yet, (really need to do that). I have 4+ years as an industrial mechanic. Worked at Perdue, then at Pilgrims Pride in Hinton before I was laid off. Things were not the best then, but it was good money at $15/hour. Since then I’ve had terrible luck with jobs.

A little hint:

Any CompTIA certification means precicely dick. It's great if you want to impress people, or open up your own little repair shop to show everyone that yes, you know what you're doing.

In short, if a company requires it, spend the money. Otherwise, your money is better spent on things like, you know, food.
