fwiw, they said they didn't drink much for each test and were nowhere near drunk (2 shots total) by the end of the experiment.
i have to wonder if they lower the alcohol content by doing this?

check out the comments section, the charcoal filtering does not reduce the alcohol content, and one guy posted that he used some device to measure alcohol content and it is the same
also, a lot of liquors are advertised as charcoal filtered
most charcoal filtered stuff is burban i thought? but what do we worry about that... the most MM uses cheap vodka for is the juice... and you cant taste it anyway!

The only thing charcoal filtering will do for vodka is the same thing it does for water. Removes impurities, etc, from water. Now, in this instance, it removes impurities from whatever toilet water Aristocrat is made from.
But it doesn't alter the actual alcohol in any way.
There was a post on StraightDope about it, but I can't find it now.

now i cant find it, maybe Im drunk and I just made it up....
either way, there are plenty of good reasons why the filtering doesnt affect alcohol content in any significant amount
the aeration comes to mind.
