In for TTD.

Dad is going to use the M3 for a Hyperdrive on Saturday. We have some family friends coming down from Connecticut - husband has done some HPDE with NASA Northeast in his newish Mustang. They are staying with my parents and he (Bob) is signed up for HPDE on both days. Very excited to have them come out!

I'll get there Friday afternoon, Dad and Bob will be bringing Bob's truck/trailer/car down Friday evening and going back home.

Need to get fender liners on the M3, buy and install an underpanel, swap to e-fan, and maybe do front brake pads.

Also need to buy a twin air mattress for the Denali so I don't have to stay at a hotel in town. Sucks to have a 30 minute drive at the start and end of your day.

Seriously? I am still in track hangover mode and already Summit is posted! Love the enthusiasm. Be there in SE46, hopefully with some revisions to make the car faster. It's all pretty much tweaks at this point.

I say you get the iron man chest piece insert and we can just jump your car with that.

Joëlle had a pretty good time working this past weekend so we may do more events in the future and/or I may be back a little bit more too now that I'm employed. I will say that today was my first day and what was described to me as the "short" day of the week went from 5:15am to 3:45pm, so, uhh, yea, I'm not sure if I'll be up for a track weekend until I fully adjust to that

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU. I found a coolant leak ... okay a puddle on the floor. the only thing I can guess is the hard pipe on the back of the block. its coming out on the drivers side away from everything else and the radiator is clean.

edit: h20 pump... oh joy

Obviously the week started off shitty... realizing I broke the seal on the pipe that runs between the thermostat and the water pump wasn't the surprise I was hoping for. After getting it pulled apart I decided to develop tennis elbow... UPS showed up at my house (on a day I took off from work to make sure I got the part and finished it left handed) but then left without dropping a box. They delayed me a day. SO... I punted to the local shop, with no parts on hand, not being the people to have taken it apart, and a one day turn around (from when the parts come in).

Friday night I go to the shop and help wrap up the car... it comes off the lift at 7pm and off to summit we went. I grabbed a box of cardboard and threw it under the car while it sat over night. I prayed a little.

Saturday morning I show up, pull the cardboard... two drips of oil (and after the sandwich plate issue i'll take two drops). I topped off the coolant, checked the oil, washed the windows... and it was time to rock and roll.

I spent the weekend trail braking Turn 1 to carry some speed, trying a different line in turn 3, pushing my luck in turn 4, compressing my brake zone in 5, "hooking" turn 9, and bombing through turn 10 using all the 460 tread wear tires and all the track.

I rolled some kids, got rolled (I'm sure Ryan has some arm out the window footage)... definitely didn't win HPDE1... but I was moved to HPDE2 for the next event I sign up for.

It was fun man. I'll have a lot to post later, but damn you should be happy with what you are doing on 400 treadwear tires... awesome job out there and gratz on DE2. Riding the low hp pain train like me. Hope to never see that damn orange e36 out there again and I might bash my head repeatedly.
