Matthew Walker

Hello everyone. My name is Matthew Walker and I am a Sophomore and a Geology major. I am actually a new student here this semester and its nice here. I got to go karting in Richmond with the group so far and hopefully more events too. I drive a 1996 Honda Accord, nothing special, but it's MY BABY none the less. I really really really like driving, and mostly just driving. I don't really know a lot about cars with respect to mechanics, just the basic stuff and whatever I pick up from my Dad and friends and I guess now here! I wish I could have been a race car driver but that didn't happen. I also hope to attend one of the BMW race driver teaching school things, it sounds awesome. Oh yeah, BMW's are pretty much my favorite car of all time. The E39 being my ultimate most favorite. Best car on earth. Recently I've also fallen in love with the Hyundai Genesis coupe, the mazdspeed3 and the new Lexus GS 350 F Sport, its gorgeous! Oh yeah the Mini Cooper S has also been in my book of favorites. I think thats all I have got to share today. So hopefully, I'll see some of you guys at events and have some good conversation here on the forum!

Adios!

Welcome to the club!

A BMW nerd is in good company around here. DJ runs a '99 M3 race car, Mike just finished building his E36 M3 track car, Peter has a bitchin' E36 autocross car, Tyler, Kyle and Matt have had E36 M3s, Jake has had about four old clunkers, there's a couple E30s floating around, Channing has a 2002, and there are a few more folks with E36s and E46s. I have a '95 M3 and I'm the officially sanctioned caretaker of my girlfriend's '00 540i sport. You can check out some of our project threads in the Member's Project section to get an idea of what owning one is like.

You're probably smart to stick with the Accord while you're in school, and save your money for other stuff, but most of us weren't nearly that smart so we can't really talk. If you decide to do something stupid and buy an old, unreliable, expensive german car, I'd be happy to guide you along the way.

Hey man, the green one was nice.

But yeah, hi! Welcome! Never buy a BMW for $700, with a sketchy back story, or while hungover. That would have reduced my ownership to one nice car instead of three shittastic ones.

Hope to see you out at the show next weekend!
