i think all three consoles look pretty cool, but i'm not going to buy any of them until their price comes waaaaaaay down. i just dont play video games enough to justify buying one of them. although i would probably buy the ps3 to sell close to xmas, but i hadnt heard that ebay thing before. i doubt they'd do that though. gears of war on 360 looks cool as shit, and i absolutely love the commercial with the big creepy spider thing with mad world playing in the background. the wii looks cool too and as mike mentioned taking games into a new direction, but again, i'm not gonna drop that kinda coin. i'd like to try to new metal gear and i've always been a fan of the final fantasy games (well most of them, anyway)

The ebay restriction for auctions on presales. People have been throwing around the $2000 number for awhile but I suspect a good deal of that is fraudulent auctions. How would it work?

A bunch of people put PS3 presale auctions up and make some new accounts to bid the price way up. By doing this the average auction price gets very high so when people start selling PS3's they can command higher prices. Of course this is just conspiracy theory but I did check auctions and there was some suspicious bidding going on. Same 0 feedback users bidding on 3 or 4 auctions, sometimes for the same seller...makes you wonder.

It'll be interesting to see how the PS3 stuff plays out. How much will people really pay for the system? How many people are going to want to buy the system when the hype dies down after Christmas? Will Sony move enough games to offset the ~$200 lost per console? When will they introduce their first price cut? How much will 360 and Wii cut into PS3 sales?

No way Im going to drop the coin on a 1080p setup, but holy shit it looks amazing. Even 1080i is leaps and bounds over anything standard def.

It will be a long time before I buy a HDTV (although - the way my current tv is fairing, maybe sooner than I would like) but I equate 1080p to HD-DVD, Blu-Ray, etc, etc. 1080i is so good and the difference between 1080i and 1080p isnt very noticible for most stuff. Besides the fact that there really isnt anything out there that is out in 1080p format.

I played a PS3 at Best Buy today, and I can tell you that I was seriously unimpressed by what I saw. I could tell no difference from a 360, although I'm sure they'll put out more games that will push the console a little harder. REALLY unimpressed by what I saw though.

I picked up Gears of War today though. Gonna session it hard after Star Trek: TNG is over on the h-dizzle televizzle ^_^
