As we were talking about in another thread, cars obviously depreciate continuously... which is fine. Keeping the miles off minimizes how much they do depreciate, so that you can get more money out of them when you want to sell them to move up to something better. I thought that goes without saying though..

........if you find your niche, you dont worry about selling it........

Oh and if you dont want to depreciate your vehicle, dont modify it either.....

Worrying about the resale value of a car is ONLY a concern if your gonna sell it..... Its like buying a stock and being like I have $20000 worth of stock, well its not worth diddly SQUAT, unless you actually sell it..

Oh and if I had a ferrari, I would beat the shit outta it. I am not paying 300,000 dollars for other people to go oooh and aahhh.. I want to be oohing and aaahing inside the vehicle, driving.....appreciating the thousands of hours those engineers sweated to get the last little bit of excitement for me.

I wouldnt buy a ferrari in the first place, I can have just as much fun, stripping out a good ole dsm and working on her myself to create a race car.

Yeah I would. Because if I could afford to buy a Ferrari I'm sure I could afford to have a dent pulled every now and again. But by what I said earlier, don't take that to mean I don't care for the car. I pay close attention to where I park my car. Those still at JMU who drive have most likely seen it, my car is almost always parked in the parallel spots in R4. I get there extra early to class to ensure I get a parallel spot. Or I park on the end and put 2 wheels in the paint.

Yeah I've seen your car there a couple of times

You guys and I are very different then. I would certainly drive the living piss out of a Ferrari if I was lucky enough to own one, but I sure as fuck wouldn't park it in areas anywhere remotely close to another car if I couldn't help it, I wouldn't store it in plain view (or even outside for that matter) in a college town, and I wouldn't be dumb enough to daily drive it.

when I had my WRX, I parked out where no one was, in end spots, etc. I still got a shit ton of dents. Big crease dents.
I dont even bother to examine my miata doors because they look like a golf ball. (and thats a car that barely takes up half a parking spot)
You will get dents anywhere. You think Nova, DC, or MD is any better than JMU? Drive the car and think of it as wear and tear.

amen brutha!

i wouldnt buy a ferrari either, but i wouldnt mind owning one. my STi has taken its lumps. its passenger side doors have dings on them from assclown charlottesville drivers. the front's got scrapes from T1 at summit point and i have a huge crack in the windshield. sure i take care of the car and i want it to look nice, but i wouldnt not drive it so it stayed nice.

Eh, knock on wood, as long as I've parked my cars in NoVA I have yet to have one vandalized. My car, Shea's, that dude across from SS boy's place, an EVO I knew when I was down there who had every single window smashed out with a brick, a girl I knew who had the driver/passenger side mirrors kicked off... the list goes on and on. I've walked by tons of cars at JMU with stuff like that. Shit, I was just down there partying a few weeks ago and someone shot out the rear window of a car that Liann and I were standing like 10 feet away with a pellet gun.

The higher content of drunk, irresponsible college students, the higher the chance of your car getting fucked with. In some places in NoVA, you have a better chance of your car actually getting stolen than you do having it vandalized. Door dings are easy to fix, smashed windows and new paint jobs are a little more expensive, for those of you who've never had to deal with it

Thus the reason why I drive a Taurus - who really cares about fucking up a Taurus? Not me, and not drunk people 8)
Why do people just post what they are thinking? Without thinking.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

it depends on how interested people seem. gerald was asking a lot of questions and was really knowledgable about FoW's operations and the teams they run at which races.
