Wow.

I mean... what a retard.
When it comes to Ryan Jenkins, the story ends with me putting him in the wall.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

Because they didn't want the paperwork of an arrest?

They should have arrested him, and accidently broken his wrists putting on the cuffs. That guy was a gaddamn train wreck.

Not that badly.. hell, I've never even hit 144 on the track, on my bike! I had the VFR pretty close on the front straight of summit, and I'm sure the F4 would do it but I haven't taken it to a track with a big runway yet.

But point taken, I do ride rather recklessly.

My point was only that I imagine nearly all of us, at some time or another, have driven/ridden at a reckless speed on a public road. Now, most of us have learned our lessons, by whatever means, but just to tell a little story, I got busted by a cop when I was young and stupid for doing "in excess" of 100mph, (In my Geo Storm with all seasons for chrissake!) and he let me go for 59 in a 50. I know he wasn't bullshitting because I knew how fast I was going, and he knew how fast I was going, and we both knew I was fucked and I'd never do it again. And I didn't.

Hopefully, this asshat learned his lesson and *hopefully* some other asshats who saw this video have maybe changed their minds about speed on a public road.

...

but I doubt it.

(p.s. I'm not talking about anyone here. I think this is a great responsible group, who knows where and when the proper place for speed is.)

i actually think the fact that he did that and that he didn't get arrested promotes the idea that you can "get away with it". but i'll agree that he was a lucky sob.

we've all done stupid things (and will likely continue to do so, hopefully less and in moderation), but i think the difference with MM is that our stupid things tend to only involve ourselves and our belongings. I think as a whole MM recognizes that public roads are NOT the place to conduct our mischief.

i did as well. His accent reminded me of the "piston-rotary" guy from the car show and you all know and remember the guy demonstrating the the "hooked-up" civic or accord or whatever else he was showing off as well.

Hehehe.... "there is nothing like two LX's running down the 1/4 mile." Ehh, I'm not gonna get all self righteous and bitch about how fast he was going. He made a dumb decision and he got busted. Just proof no one needs the awesome power of a Hemi®

Duh.... although i think we're on the same side of the scale here. It seemed to me that Captain was saying Andrew shouldn't have asked for his wrists to be broken because we've all done it.

I will say me too....many moons ago I was speeding back from Tampa over the big bridge and just kept it up when I hit the mainland...anyway I saw the lights and pulled over since i *knew* it was me. That little move there kept me out of jail and sleeping in my own bed 1/2 hour later and 300.00 poorer with a tkt for 90 in a 65. I don't do that shit anymore.
