New posts messing up?
#1
Hey I don't know if this has been happening to others but lately the forums, particularly the lounge/events forums have been acting weird for me. On the main forum page it'll show a new post (orange-brown paper thing) that I've either seen and read before and/or it'll show a new post by a certain user, and when I go to check it out the post turns out to be 5 posts down with no new posts? Sometimes without that user even making the last one? Just thought i'd bring this up

when I'm done reading the forum I always click the Mark All Post Read link at the bottom of the main page, this is a phpBB problem and there's nothing that can be done to fix it, when my board was phpBB we had these problems.

Thanks for the tip, I'll do that. I forgot to mention that it even does it when i'm looking within the forum. Like if i'm looking at a lounge thread, then go back to the whole Lounge forum it'll show a new post in a certain thread and when I click it theres nothing new....weird

I always read the threads and hit refresh when I go back to the main page - I rarely have a problem...
Why do people just post what they are thinking? Without thinking.

Good point as well, it is always a good idea w/ dynamic websites these days NOT to use the Back/Forward buttons but to click links (static HTML doesn't really matter or non SESSION sites). Like if you are reading a thread, don't click BACK but use the NAV buttons at the top that shows your depth. The session's can get screwed up and it will appear that you 'stepped back in time' so to speak.
