MM: Help me choose a new daily driver!

I dont get you guy's infatuation with the SC.
It looked good....10 years ago.
Now it just looks like a big bar of soap.

i still like the SC, but i'd really like a white IS300 though. i've always thought they were pretty sweet cars and now they're coming within the 'affordable' price range. i have heard they don't suit taller drivers as well as most other cars in its class though.

OT but :A coworker just picked up the new IS350. It's alright but such a departure from the original IS. The 350 is sprung pretty soft and the seats are more for comfort than spritied driving. It isn't all that great but it goes like hell.

Man I'd love one of the new 350s, those are badass.

I'm coming down to the 'burg either tomorrow or Saturday morning to check out that white IS. Hopefully it will still be around. Ideally I'd like to get the frame damage looked at too to find out if it was bad, and if the repair was acceptable. It's pretty difficult unfortunately for me to coordinate that from up here.

Well, I stopped by Carmax today just to see what they'd offer for it and to check out their selection. They offered $5,000, which is laughable considering I owe about $3,000 more than that. I have a feeling the only way I'll get anything out of this is to sell it privately. I'm going to head down to Harrisonburg tomorrow anyway to check out that white Lexus, who knows, maybe the dealer will cut me some kind of deal (doubtful!)

I may be driving this truck longer than I think. If I have to, I'll probably drop the insurance to liability only and hope my loan holder doesn't find out just to save cash, get some new rims and tires, and clean up the interior and exterior.

Truck will most likely go on Autotrader and such. If it sells, we have two cars here I could drive (brother's Lancer and a newer Legacy wagon).

Oh, I also looked at a 2001 Audi A6 2.7T

Had 75kish miles, selling for $15,000. Thoughts?

258 ftlbs. of torque at 1850 rpms... not bad!! lol No clue how much that thing weighs though.. probably a LOT.

Gas mileage leaves something to be desired though.. 17 / 24

just like the S4...make sure you know the car's history. they're basically the S4's fat ass brother, you can get one with a 6 speed too. they sound purrrrty 8)

15k ain't bad i guess. kind of a rare car really.

I have a feeling it's going to be rape on insurance, I'll check it out anyway. The sales guy asked me if I wanted a test drive but I declined because I was tired and it was rainy as hell out.

Hrm, I'm finding a lot of those A6 twin turbos for around that same price range and even a little bit cheaper. Progressive says they're just under $4 more per month to insure than the Tundra... I think I can deal with that =D

Not to be an asshole but shouldn't a DD be both reliable and good on gas? Something tells me a Turbo'ed Audi doesn't fit the bill.

hehe, this man has a point. although my A4 has fit both categories (got 30+ mpg on the highway last week) i wouldn't recommend it to someone unless they're an audi nutswinger like i am

Something tells me Dungeons and Dragons is great on gas and has proven reliable entertainment to nerds everywhere for several decades now. 8)

Just got back, the car is pretty sweet. I'm surprised how quick they are for 210hp. The auto tranny shifts quick and smooth during hard acceleration and the push button shifting works pretty well. Car is comfortable, quiet and clean.

Dealer would give me an assraping on a trade in for the Tundra, although it was a much better offer than Carmax. Either way, I'd still owe money on the loan so that amount would get rolled into the sales price. I can probably afford just to get the IS300 outright and keep the Tundra to try to sell it to a private buyer. I'll find out Tuesday what kind of interest rates I can get then probably pick it up next week.

Anyone interested? hehe ... I'll post up in the For Sale section, but it will probably be on Autotrader by the end of the day.
