I enjoy doing great falls rides. Its close and twisty. GW Parkway is a nice relaxing ride also.

I'd welcome both of those.

If you've got a suggestion for the route, or the pace, or anything else then speak up while we're out instead of turning around and heading home.

That ride I cut the pace down quite a bit due to the overnight rain, roads I'd never seen before that were wet in spots, a group that had never ridden together, and we had a relatively new rider with us. We all still had a good time, and we picked up the pace when we hit roads that werent still wet.

If y'all want to go on ahead and push the limits of a sensible riding pace on a group ride, go ahead and we'll collect you further on down the road somewhere, we wont hold you up.

i did go home and i was able to make my friend's bday bbq poker game. i did think the pace was a little slow, but i understand the need for it. Bagg and i did pick up the pace on the way home with the same roads, except for that one part that was all shaded/still damp. we didn't know the turns until the return trip either.

Bagg - 4hrs ain't too bad with the stops though. the only time i have a problem with is long rides in a straight line (highway)

I need to do an oil change and possibly a coolant change before this ride though

when is the expected time to arrive at the MM House?

I certainly don't envy you RR owners. I sat on G's bike and I thought there was a brick under my ass not a seat. My R6's seat is nice and comfy so a 4 hour ride is nothing on it.

My next street bike will be even more 'upright' than the F3. I just dont see any upside to the 'Italian torture rack' riding position of the RR... then again, I've put 4,000 miles on my bike since March.

it's definitely far from comfortable, but damn it's a nice bike to ride hard. Ride it properly and you won't really feel the seat. My butt's hardly had a problem, initially it was more the wrists and back, but i've learned to adjust the riding style and center of weight to make it more comfortable - in return it feels more responsive and predictable. I find myself to be relying more on my legs than my butt, i'm rarely really sitting on the bike anyway.

Honestly when I did my 4 hour ride the other week it was only really my wrists and all I have to do is adjust my riding position a little bit to sort of squat more on the bike to take the weight off my wrists.

Of course it could just be that I get a lot of "wrist" exercise

If you're on the bike, the fun of it isnt in the destination, at least for me. I enjoy the ride, the scenery, being out with friends, etc... much better than going for a boring ride to a set destination, might as well take the truck for that.

You know what just occurred to me? It would be so cool to be able to have this kind of conversation around the water cooler at work. I mean damn, there's only like 2 guys at work that appreciate and ride/have ridden bikes. Then of course there are no car guys like me around (although one dude's dad race's a Formula Continental or something).

My coworkers think i have some serious screws loose.... ok, they're right, but still. Only one other guy here rides (the Monster s2r), while a few others have had bikes in the past. My boss is a car guy, but never did any competitive driving. I meet up with seabass to do lunchtime rides sometimes though, thats always fun

Honestly for me it's not the final destination or the time involved. As long as the scenery is good and the company is good I'm going to have a good time. I don't need a fast paced, really twisty ride to come back grinning ear from ear.

I'd be just as happy with a slow paced, take it easy, cruise along the GW PKWY or Blueridge PKWY as anything else.

*Assuming the roads are in good shape, we'll try to ride 'the pace' for most of the ride... the weather should be great for saturday, so enjoy it
*Make sure you have enough gas to make it to haymarket
*Ride will probably be at least 120 miles, plan accordingly
*Meet at my place at 10am, we leave by 10:15
*Bring water, cash, etc....
*I may be in full leather (disclaimer)
*Any suggestions to change the route, just let me know.... I came up with this after going over the google map for 10 minutes
*Print/Write down the route and put it on your tank
