Haha, I'm a big fan of SCC as well. I just got home and read the February issue, with the boost on a budget article. A KA-T 240 is now my current sickness. 225 wheel hp for a thousand bucks? hell yes. I've been a subscriber for a few years, it looks like its making a comeback, Jacquot really brought it back from the brink of death...now i'm just waiting for it to get thicker!

I think the Veyron is a rather lame and unimaginative supercar. Put a huge honking motor in a 4500 lbs chassis, make sure the aero keeps it from flipping at high speed, and call it a day. I'm sure plenty of other manufacturers could do the same but they wouldn't waste their time doing something so unoriginal.

I have picked up a few GRM's and I like them a lot, and I think I have an Evo or two, haven't read the last one you mentioned...I like SCC cause they have a great balance of feature articles/humor/tech, but i'll be sure to take your advice and pick up a subscription to GRM!

actually, thats pretty much the "supercar" formula. Save for the occasional Enzo or F1.

Racecar Engineering, Evo, CAR, and GRM are pretty much the only car mags I read, then Bike (UK), Performance Bike (UK), Road Racer X, and Supermoto Racer are my moto magazines.

from my experience, i loved it in HS. The articles got shitty and i think they got a new editor or something b/c they got better a couple years ago. They brought back the sentra tear-down project and a few others. I like reading GRM a lot more though. My favorite article and inspiration is still that quick mk1 rabbit vw (grey one featured) in the GRM a few issues ago.

Pretty much, which is why I'm not really into most supercars. The F40, F1, F50, S7, and Enzo are the only ones in the last 20 or so I'd be interested in. Of those the F1 is by far my favorite.

They did go way downhill, crowned by the January '04 issue that was all about burnouts...and...thats it. They readily admit that they sucked, and they are starting to make a comeback....more tech, more interesting articles, and most of all they are resurrecting many of their old project cars such as the Miata and turbo Festiva.

I have a subscription to Hot Rod, since I was 12, my parents got it for me cause I was way into old hot rods and muscle cars. But they are THE most pretentious pricks in the auto journalism industry. You think SCC is bad about domestics, just read one Hot Rod. They used to be a bit more open minded (they even featured a land speed Civic once) but they've gone back to being the kings of suck.
