I think its sorta like an auto-x on a road course? Probably cones on the straightaways to keep the speed down?

Yes. It's an autocross, but on the 1.1 mile Patriot Course at VIR. Like we did on Feb 18th while all the cool kids were on the full course. No cones and no novices...

There are 7 or 8 spots left if anyone's not going to CMP. Otherwise, see you at CMP that Sunday...

Thanks,

Jon

No cones. From the website, it sounds like they set you loose on Patriot without an instructor for a timed run.

Sounds like a blast except that its on the same weekend as CMP

Exactly. 5 autoxes or 1 HPDE prior verifiable experience required.

I may become the first person ever to drive VIR-Patriot and CMP on the same weekend...

$90 for one heat or $160 for both. 6-8 runs per heat, on VIR-Patriot which is 1.1 miles and you will see lots of 3rd + maybe some 4th gear.

And it's not an autocross, it's a CircuitCross

Thanks,

Jon

Seems like a pretty fair price considering the length. I paid 30 bucks last week for 5 50-second runs. I'd much prefer the circuit cross thing.

I am a freshman in college, I like small autocrosses because 30 bucks for a nice weekend is fun. 160 is just way out of my price range. It is a good deal, but will knock a lot of people out.

Its also half the cost of a full track weekend

Most people are doing the $90 for one heat, not the $160.

But yeah, I see your point... VIR's not cheap to rent...

It'll be fun regardless,

Were you at FedEX? I stopped by during the 2nd heat Sunday AM. Looked around a bit didn't see you.

So, this CircuitCross, do you just get 1 lap 6-8 times?

Yes. Autocross format, 2 heats of 15 cars, 20ish-second start intervals, for 1 hour each. Should be 6-8 laps each.

Thanks,

Jon
