To all you biker boys: 2 rights don't make a wrong. Don't come on here saying you are going to do illegal shit, then get all pissy when people call you out on it and tell you to shut your cyber pie hole. I donÔÇÖt care if ______ person did ______ stupid shit on ______ drive. If you want to coordinate rides on this forum, OK, but don't talk about stunting around, breaking the law, etc. The next person I see trying to set up a drive saying they are going to do illegal shit is getting banned. The next person bragging about how they did illegal shit on their bike is getting banned. It's not how this club does things. If this reality check hurts your cyber ego / penis, make your own forum. Its not that hard.

Naw that isn't actually my pic, I stole it from another forum where some guy has the same GPS unit I do. I'm still waiting on the RAM mounts so I can attach the unit to the bike.

Yeah, I'm going to try to level out at about 140ish and see exactly how far off my stock speedo is if at all. And for the record it is really isn't a challenge to hit 140 on a straight, traffic-less road (or track). Just ask Han about that lol. Hell, I'd top my bike out if I had a damper and a better helmet. Whats the point of a sportbike if you don't push it to its limits occasionally?

Its not a question of whether its a challenge to get up to that speed, its a question of whether it is reasonably safe or responsible to do so on a public road. At 140 mph you are covering 205 feet every second. At that speed you would not be able to avoid a deer or other animal running out on the road, nor would you be able to avoid an unforeseen pothole or debris on the road.

Doing 140 down the front street at VIR is one thing, doing it on 81 is a whole 'nother thing. At least at VIR there's an ambulance to pick you up if you crash, not to mention that you wouldn't have to go to jail after you recovered.

You're an adult and its your life but if you're planning on doing something wantonly reckless don't post it here because we don't condone that kind of stuff. And if anyone in or close to law enforcement is perusing our board you'd best believe it would be used in court as evidence to put you in jail.

I don't recall ever saying I was going to go flying down 81 or through a forest teeming with deer, but that's beside the point. If you're getting that uppity about someone doing 140 on a bike under controlled or semi controlled conditions you might want to re-evaluate your position on bikes in general. They are dangerous machines.

Bikes are dangerous that's why you have to smart about the risks you take. I'm not being uppity at all I'm just pointing out that doing that kind of speed on a public road is not really a wise decision. Anytime you're on a public road it is not controlled or even semi-controlled conditions.

Sure you think you've got it covered but nobody who has a crash planned on crashing that day unless they're out racing or stunting. Even then, no one plans on getting hurt.

You're gonna do what you wanna do and its your ass on the line. But as I said, if you want to do stuff like that don't post it here.

Bikes are only as dangerous as you make them.

I'm not sure that I have a whole lot of room to talk given our gross display of stupidity last weekend, but at the same time when I do stuff like that I accept the risk of the situations I put myself in. I have no desire to go 140mph on anything with wheels on the street, but I have seen over 100. Not sure the difference, both will kill you if the shit hits the fan.

The problem is, that the people around you (friends, family, etc) dont accept that risk and if you're doing something that puts you in danger of getting seriously injured then you're not the only one that has to live with it. In retrospect, i've done some stupid shit that I shouldnt have, but I made out ok - and most of my family does not agree with racing my integra I've tried to make it as safe as I can and my mom has offered to help me buy a H&N Restraint. I take the same approach with the bike, always wearing gear, etc.

If you're going to get defensive about your intentions to go out and double the national speed limit then maybe you should re-evaluate your environment. This is not the place to announce that kind of stupidity.

I participated in the jackassery last weekend, so I've got about as much room to talk as anybody else. We're all subject to momentary lapses in judgement... but you're making it very clear, days before the fact, of what you intend to do. There's a very big distinction to be seen there.

We were doing wheelies in the parking lot. I dont think any of us broke 25 mph, but it certainly wasnt the time or place for it.
