Get fit and play ball!?!
#1
Ok so there is the HT thread on getting fit. It hits close to home since I want to start driving again... and I am getting old and turning into and extra fat ass. SO... the steps i have taken are to start playing basketball again... since i HATE running for the sake of running. RJ (the slimmer one) and I want to put it out there for you guys... the NOVA old man/woman crew.

I currently play with some guys at a local elementary school gym on thursday nights. I'll see if they would be cool with having more people come. BUT I'd really like to get something started on the weekends. Its getting nice out... we coule go hit up a local out door place on saturday afternoons. Run around, move, jump and attempt to look like we play ball. input on days of the week/weekend, times, etc would be great! oh yeah, and general interest.

Ok so the court out in front of the MM arlington house... that sounds like a good place to play... are weekend times good for you guys? like saturday afternoons or sunday afternoons?

you dont have to be good at basketball to run around and get a little work out in.

When this semester is done I would be more than willing to play w/you guys (show you old folks how its done  ). I play almost everyday here at UREC, but in the summer its a lot harder to find something going (atleast for me anyway), so if your still doing this in mid May im definitly in.

I prefer to get up at my usual time and get things done than sleep away a good part of my day like you and Derecola.

and how is that different from

its a big full court, in good condition and rarely used. I could care less if we end up in arlington, but this is another good option.
If the other one is some hoop stuck on a curb in front of a house, then a real court is much better

The court in front of our house is pretty mint, but I'll play anywhere. Or at least as a 5'8" white guy, I'll try.

because i haven't been asked to Tongue

the court is in good condition... i'd say it is about 3/4 size (rare to find a full sized outdoor court), which is helpful in old age. rarely anyone on it, but i do see groups of guys out there on weekends from time to time. it is also lit, but the fucking park authority has yet to fix the lights that i have complained twice about. could be a nice warmup to some racing on sundays.

why no mornings? cause i feel like shit.

The one in mclean is in awesome shape, and its full size I think - we can play both and see which one works better for us - probably 10 min from you donkeys.

Mike Wrote:why no mornings? cause i feel like shit.

You know, there's a fix for that.
