Great Job Mike

Thanks for the heads-up John. I definately plan on maxing out my 401k contributions and getting the best benefits options possible (regardless of cost). Luckily I don't do credit cards, so nothing to pay off there Smile

I'm trying to avoid this "real world" thing for a while, maybe a long while because I may go right to grad school after this... I'm never going to actually make money

putting 6% in to 401k still leaves me 94% to play with. like john said, if i just do it now i won't miss it later.

rent? none.

taxes? 35%, so i have around 60% to play with - plenty of money.

you're not gonna live with mom and pop for long, i hope... then your rent will be substantial (in nova atleast, even with roommates), all the utilities that go along with having a place (elec, cable, water, trash, internet, cell phone, etc) will be substantial, a credit card (cuz you probably should get one, now that you've got a job) may not be substantial but still a bill nonetheless...

not tryin to scare ya, but you dont see many people right out of college that have too much money that they can do whatever they want...

I'd stay at home long enough to save up for a good/bigger bed if you need one... dresser, stuff like that. there are tons of costs to moving out. i'm sure you are aware. if you dont have rent, pile that money away and save a little before you move out on your own... you never know... you might want to buy a home and have to have a down payment and money for furnature... but you'll need a good deal of money in the bank for that kinda stunt.

cock and i are planning on a year at our homes, then maybe buy a place as opposed to throwing rent money down the drain.
