Volant Power Carve skis for sale...price reduced
#1
Now selling at 150obo.
I would really like to get rid of these.

I am selling my old pair of 172cm Volant Power Carve skis to help finance some more car related purchases. I brought the skis about 5 years ago and used them for 3 ski seasons before getting a new pair of skis, so these skis have been sitting in my room for awhile.

They are 172cm all stainless steel construction skis. They do very well in everything from deep powder to ice. The skis do not come with bindings or boots.
I am looking for 150 obo for the skis. They are in great shape with a few scratches from use. They could use a wax and tune up before being used. I can do this for a few extra bucks if requested.

I don't know the sidecut dimensions off hand and the skis are at home. However, I can have them measured this afternoon and let you know by tonight.

i was just curious - not really serious - no rush.

I might be looking for another set of skis, but it won't be happening this winter.

I'm getting my Fischer's repaired at Ski Chalet right now (stripped heli-coil). And after last year i noticed that they weren't that stable at high speed, i had a lot of chatter from the shovel. These Volants always intrigued me though.

nick, how tall are you? 172's seem a bit short for me but then again, i'm no expert. i used my bro's 190s for a season which seemed like they were a bit too long but i liked them. how much are decent boots and bindings these days? i havent bought skis in ages

172's are actually a pretty good size. I have 170's right now and i bought them specifically shorter since i was on JMU ski racing team last year. Slalom racing kicks ass! i think 190+ is really pushing it unless you really want the challenge or if you ski very powerfully and at high speeds. 175-178 would be a good length for someone about 6' less than or near 200 lbs. 180 is even fine for 6' and moderate to good skiing experience.

From what i hear for the Volant's they're pretty stable and sound skis. My preference still lie with Fischer, Atomic, Dynastar, and Volkl for skis. Lange for boots, and Marker for bindings.

NEW decent boots and bindings will run about $350 total. That's also a high estimate, you can find deals even this early since they're trying to get rid of their old stock before the new stuff starts to come in.

w00t, i'm about to buy my new poles (old ones are pretty bent), but the new one's will be bent anyway....this time on purpose Wink

you wouldn't bend them if you didn't crash off huge jumps!

I am 5'9. I switched from theses skis to the Saloman 1080s a couple years ago. I have been very happy with them thus far.

Oh and the edge shapening and waxing will be free to MMers.

With the winter arriving soon I just wanted to post these up for sale again.

Certainly someone needs some skis for the season.
