Gotten tired of using tape
#1
Alright so ive been autocrossing for a while now and been too lazy to get vinyls or whatever people use to get for numbers on my car. Anybody know of a good place, they have to be able to be reusable so that I can take em off and get em on again at every event. I will need 4 number 1s and 4 number 3s.......Let me know a place I can get this done at. Preferably in MM yellow with a black border cuz itll match the one sticker I will have on my car...the MM sticker...

Whenever I get to the point of ordering numbers, I always come up with something better to spend that money on...

i tried the vinyl numbers once... too expensive. for autocrossing you ought to look in to some magnetic numbers.

lol yeah im tired of the look and the pain in the ass of cutting tape in the wind. Plus I buy a new roll cuz I forget to bring it everytime I go out so I end up having 6 billion rolls by the end of the season.

Magnetized stuff, yeah thats what i was thinking I dont know what the shit was called so I callled it vinyl. Cutting my own doesnt sound like a good idea with my shitty artistic skills.

How tall do these rolls come in, I may get an artist to cut mine out or something. These need to be big letters and I dont want to tape them together...

Mike, where would I find these magnetic numbers?

I printed out big numbers (1 number per page, about 9" high) and used that as a stencil. No artistic skills required

pegasus auto racing has magnetic numbers, and if you google autocorss supplies I think there is a shop that caters to AutoX'ers that has magnetic numbers.

The ones on my car are vinyl, but when removed are done, so I just got a few sets. But, I'm sorta likeing 32 by now, so I think I'm going to just leave them on. Besides, I never drive that car on the street.

I thought one of the downsides to magnetic numbers was that it picked up grit which could end up scratching your paint

if you go to a craft store like michaels or something, they sell sheets of magnet. you can just print numbers on them from your inkjet printer or just tape sheets of paper to them. its not great, but its better than making numbers out of tape

they don't stay on 'at speed'. I lost many a 'craft supply' magnets, only thing I've found to stay on at VIR is vinyl.

They were tapped just fine, tape doesn't hold to well in the rain. I'll take on the fag box just as soon as I fix my busted pile

Dj...do you know Justin with the blue Laser?

He works at a graphics shop in Manassas and also has his own business. He has a vinyl cutter at his home. You could talk him into cutting you some numbers very cheap but you'd end up having them on the car full time.
