im willing to sell some worker credits.. i kinda need money..

i have 2 full weekend of worker credits which equals one free weekend if i am correct..

how much do they go for.. i know i had the option of being paid 150 per weekend, so i could have been paid 300 bucks..

what do they sell for?

I am not sure what the going rate is but an HPDE is 299.00....basically what you get for working 2 full weekends. Ask the club what they have been going for.

flagging = $150 cash. working one weekend = 1 day of driving which is the same as $150.

yes flaggers only get cash, and if I remember correctly thats the amount of credits workers get. can anyone back me up?

yes, cash are for flaggers. Credits go to the other positions.

I have sold my credits on two different occasions. I have sold them for about half of what a weekend costs. But maybe 75% of what a weekend costs is what you might be able to get for them. Depends on the negotiation between the two parties.

Workers getting credits, get 16 credits for a full weekend of work. You need 32 credits for a full weekend of driving.

Workers getting cash basically get the same deal just get monetary compensation, $150 for a weekend which is 1/2 the cost of a full weekend entry fee.

IMO don't discount your credits, sell them for what they're worth. You put the time in get the equivalent of if you'd used them yourself. $300 for 32 credits.

That is all well and good, but then no one has any insentive to buy your credits. I was getting hated on for even trying to make some money back, so I don't think full price is even possible. But I guess people are going to complain if they want a discount, and make the worker feel bad.

i kind of agree, i mean you can post them up for $260 or something, but if you ask for $300 people will just register with nasa as opposed to using credits. I don't think they're supposed to hold their cash value. Going below $250 is too low i think though, you did put in the time for those credits.

so what we've figured out here is it makes more sense to just get the cash... if you get the cash and hold it for a year you'll even make some interest! if you're using them, yeah they have the same value except for the interest earned, but if you don't use them and end up selling them you're losing serious money.

cash seems to be a no-brainer.

if you know you'll never use the credits, I'd suggest signing up early for an event and asking to flag. They will provide a flagging training course your first time out, but I don't believe you get cash the first time, just credits. After NASA is comfortable with your flagging skills, you're free to work as spots are available for cash.

That's assuming that cash is an or will be an option for non flaggers.

By discounting your worker credits you're in effect saying that you're not worth what you actually got compensated for. I understand that in a pinch if you need the cash you will sell something for less than it's value, but if you're not hard up for it why sell something for less than it's actual value. In that case just hold onto them yourself to use at a later date.

I don't understand why people would hate on you for expecting to get full price for something that has a set value. It's not as if you're selling a car or something of the sort where the price is open to opinion. You don't see me going into the Grocery Store and asking if I can get that bag of chips for $1.50 instead of $1.90. Now if you were trying to make money on top of what they were worth then I can understand the hating.

As far as incentive to buy credits, maybe someone should bring up the option to Laura and Registration. A pool of workers that won't be using their credits and the entrants pay them for the credits to use. A "Help out our Workers" program. People appreciate what y'all do out there to ensure they are able to come to the track and play. If you put the right light on making the credits you've earned available for sale you won't be looked upon as someone just trying to make a buck.
