Do you guys research at home?

Does your assignment at work carry over to your time off in hopes of getting promoted/ raises sooner? I guess what I am saying do you further your knowledge of certain technologies, computers, servers, video while on your leisure?

do it all the time. It kinda depends on the topic, but i've just looked around to know more. Jobs with salary are not just 9-5 imo, you have to get into it to know more. Plus it kinda pays off if you get a bonus or a raise, usually happens sooner anyway.

You will always have to learn new skills to do your job  I dont know that it would directly tie into getting raises/promotions, but it always looks good on your review if you are picking up new skills and taking on new responsibilities. I had to learn database stuff and SQL for this job - well i'm still learning

I can say no, as all the stuff i work with is never really at home. But, I can use some stuff from work for home.

Yes, work time will run in to home time, it is inevitable. Yes, you should always spend a little unpaid time developing your skills and learning new technologies and shit. Very few people move up in the world for simply doing their job.
