Yes, lets take car advice from an article on msn of all places......
If you think FWD is so god awful, I'll take you for a ride in my shitbox sometime on track.

I like FWD. RWD is nice, and fun, but I never mind drivin any of my FWD cars.

i just skimmed it, and it was kinda fun to read but full of glaring faults on drivetrain dynamics (to cite a few), like:
"Although full time 4 wheel drive cars are not as much "fun" to drive as are rear wheel drive ones they are so much faster and efficient"
- maybe on gravel or ice?
"The, sometimes, sudden [4WD] character of the transition from understeer to oversteer mid-corner"
- what? that has to do with bad chassis/suspension tuning
"Most BMWs and Mercedes-Benz cars are rear wheel drive cars, mainly for old times sake."

He's actually an IT consultant. Because everyone knows that IT people (and especially Political Pundits) know alot more about automotive engineering than, say, automotive engineers.
There is nothing inherently good or bad about Rear, Front, or All wheel drives. Each has their advantages and disadvantages, everything is a trade-off.
And then there are douchebag bench racers. Like these two guys. Now, the second guy has his head on a little straighter than the first, but you have to look at the whole package. A FWD DSM is lighter than an AWD one, even by simple merit of some of the parts being missing. Yes, the AWD has a traction advantage, but at what weight cost? The second guy actually looks at this, whereas the first guy is just like "WHEEE! OVERSTEER!"
One need only look as far as an H1 race to see that it's 90% driver and tuning, not "OMG, RWD is the bizzomb!"

lol...he said bizzomb

I sure do wish my car was RWD......then i could do 360's and other fun stuff!!

I personally don't like FWD. There, I said it.
However, I recognize the many merits of it and can say that I have driven a few that I like and ridden many times and loved them. Nonetheless, any car with a good driver becomes a good car.
And IT consultants shouldn't be allowed to write articles about cars. What were they thinking?
simply put, i think any enthusiast would prefer rwd, but that isn't always feasible or in line with budget, etc.
if honda made both a fwd and a rwd civic, i'd rather track the rwd one.
