1995 GS500e with a little under 5k on the odo.
Just rode it home from DC earlier today
I think i'll be riding it once i get the registration and gear squared away, but mostly just on the weekends. Playing it safe till i build up some confidence on her.
Damn son, how was the ride back from DC?

the ride from DC actually wasn't too bad, but i did realize how people never saw me so i left my hi-beam on and used the horn in traffic going through GT
getting used to the throttle i stalled out twice (once in GT at an intersection). I found it very easy to ride back though. I just followed my mom in my car since she knows the DC roads. I just took side roads and haven't traveled on the interstate yet, but i rode on the ffx parkway.
I already have my M-license , so i'm up for riding once i get the bike registered tomorrow or whenever i get the chance.
there are some minor things that need fixing. The previous owner included a battery charger, oil, and a spare chrome handle bar. I need to replace the throttle grip since it's not really there (see picture). There is also a key stuck in the gas tank, but i can still turn it with a needle-nose pair of pliers.
Good thing i didn't buy the SV650 yet though, looks like this is a good amount of power and moderate seating position for me right now.
Rock on. I'm off every weekend and know some decent places to head out to. The highway's not so bad when you get out there; everybody's headed in the same direction and the bike gets really stable. I never had my GS up at that speed, though, so I'm not sure what kind of top end they've got.
h00ray for MM bikes!

i actually think it's a 6-speed...kinda surprising. I thought it was a 5, but i managed to bump it up a notch while cruising at 55mph on the parkway. So it has higher speed cruising capabilities.
it's also a twin!
never thought the day would come
looks good dude, go out there and enjoy it while its warm!

haha, yeah. I wanted that sv, but this was a good price for a learner's. I test drove it and thought it might be better than spending a lot more on a nicer bike at this point. The miles were just right too. Minimal maintenance and i get to ride sooner The price and the fact that he accepted credit cards is what sold me. 0% apr > *

Yeah - that bike has barely been ridden with under 5K for a 95. I am sure you will have a lot fun on that bike and it didn't break the bank either. I want to come over and check it out. Ill give you a call this week.
is it pretty normal to find a bike that old with that few miles on it?

Depends.... a lot of folks put less miles on their bike in a year than they do on Reeboks.

I'd love to take you guys for a ride on some roads out near where I live, I know some really fantastic, open, scenic roads you'd love on a motorcycle. A biker friend of mine and I went for a drive/ride a few weeks ago and had an absolute blast.
