Im looking to buy some nice headphones, but unfortunately I dont know much about them. These would be more to use at my computer, as I am perfectly content with the ones that I got with my ipod. I realize that the description I gave of what I want is kinda broad, but Im sure you guys have had some experience, or know more about quality headphones than I do. Any suggestions?
Im not lookin to spend to much, but Id be willing to spend some decent money for a good pair.

what kind of head phones?
i have the one's that cover the entire ear if you were interested in those. If not i'd recommend the typical ear buds. Got mine for $5 at wal-mart. I use them on my Hi-MD player every day :-D.

Damn enough accolades you think? I see them going for about $90. How much did ya pay for em, and where?

It all depends on how much you want to spend. Look around http://www.headphone.com/products/headphones/ . Look at the Grados and Sennheisers. You also need to decide on open ear vs. closed ear. The Sennheiser 580 is one of the best sets ever made and is about $160 on Ebay, for cheaper the Grado SR60s are a good bet at ~$60, although some people complain about them being uncomfortable - like I said, depends on what you want to pay. Good luck.

I got them here: http://www.goodcans.com/
That site contains very good reviews of a lot of high-end headphones. It's also run by just your average guy so it's nice to support him. I paid whatever MSRP is on them, they rarely rarely rarely ever drop below that.

Oh, and be careful about the impedance of the headphones you are buying, as a computer soundcard might not have enough power for you to get the volumes you are looking for. Most large headphones, while offering superior sound, are not useful for portable players and must be driven from a stereo receiver or with a headphone amp.

i got my Koss one's (also used for gaming and music) for $20 and in included ear buds too! They all sounds the same IMO, the real quality will come from your stereo/ipod/mp3/computer.

I use Koss PRO-3AAT Titanium closed cans. Excellent sound, I really love them. Cant beat the lifetime warranty either, if you ever step on them and break them, you send them back with $5 and they send you a brand new pair.
IMO Koss makes the best headphones for the money by far. I thought about getting some $100+ Sennheisers or Grados, but these have fantastic sound for half the price.

Have you actually heard Grados and Sennheisers and are saying that from exp, or are you just assuming they are about the same quality?

Price obviously is a big deal, so it wouldn't be totally fair to do a side by side comparison. But this would be interesting....

Yes Ive listened to both Grados and Senns, and compared to my Koss. These are not the cheap Koss stuff you see at walmart.
I keep them at work, but if I remember Ill bring them home on fri. These arent broken in yet though, I just got them a couple days ago after the last pair broke
I have the fold up Sennheisers. They own for a $60 pair.
