j/k, probably the best weekend of my life. we had the whole place on the dance floor at the reception, it was wild. once i get the pics, i'll post up the '56 rolls that jen and i rode in to the reception!

- bad omens
....hurricane emily flattened cancun, where we were supposed to go for our honeymoon. thankfully we had travelers insurance and got hooked up for a shorter stay in st. thomas.
....two enourmous thunderstorms right before, and during the wedding
....then lightning struck the church, essentially killing the organ (100 years old). every time the organist hit a low note, the organ would BLAST random notes that sounded horrible. meanwhile the bellows in the attic went out of control and were banging around because they were over-extending. the chains that limit their movement were working overtime to control the bellows, so from the altar you could hear loud banging and rustling of chains in the attic while the organ went haywire. i needed an old priest and a young priest....
then the rolls that was supposed to take us to the reception got lost, but made it just in the nick of time.
looking back on it, it was so bizarre but all i can do is laugh. the ceremony still went on just fine and the reception was tons of fun.

I got married in Jamaica, after delayed by hurricane getting there , then not being allowed to board the plane because my birth certificate did not have a raised seal, a very expensive hotel night in DC to get a raised seal,Then.... nice week punctuated with another hurricane and FLOATING our rental car 1.5 miles in the flooding pushed by me and 6 Jamaican dudes to get around the island to leave.....Crazy but memorable.

thanks, we were married in St. John's episcopal church on elm st. in roanoke. Jen's family goes there and it's a beautiful old building so we decided to go there. they need to work on that organ of theirs though :wink:
