Ryan (JMULT1) sent me this link and it going to attempt to build this for his place next year. It appears you can mount the table into the existing holes in the block. They also work great for holding wine bottles (as seen below!)

I'm going block shopping tomorrow. That is by far the coolest table ever. And much better than the oil soaked 4cyl sitting on its side with half a wooden cable spool sitting on top of it that I currently have.

i recently moved and in the process of setting everything back up, i wanted to revive the "car parts as furniture" theme. looks like boobie's link is broken at the top, but it was the pic of the LS1 motor that was turned into a coffee table. well here's my small contribution:
