There's no debate - I'm at work right now, but you can either accept that regular (blanks) are better........

Or you can keep poking at me and my anger against all things slotted/drilled and not wrapped in bacon awaits you, with nasty big pointy teeth and I will dig up the altimas.net discussion as well as other fine pieces of asshattery spewed across the webbernet like cheap porno.

So, got an axe to grind? Wink (google is your friend..... )

the "debate" in here sucks. hell, i'll strat some just for the heck of it!

slotted and drilled are better! the holes allow the bad gases to escape... you know, the bad brake gases. the slots allow brake dust to move away nicely... because otherwise it all gets stuck and will eventually spontaneosly (sp?) combust.

Gee whiz Mike, according to everything I've *ever* read, brake outgassing hasn't been an issue for decades. (am I following the script closely enough?)

OK, I'm the guy who voted slotted 8)

I fail to see why slotted rotors would be inferior. IIRC, from what I read when this came up before slotted rotors would shorten stopping distances at the expense of pad life. I also fail to see why professional racers would use slotted rotors if they were inferior to solid ones.

Cross-drilling, on the other hand, is a load of crap for obvious reasons.
Why do people just post what they are thinking? Without thinking.

The only benefit for slotting is to prevent pad glazing, at the expense of pad life. Its only real use is for endurance racers that go really fast - i.e. lemans prototype/gt type speed and even then the slots are still a stress riser. If not machined and chamfered properly they will crack and fail.

You cant shorten stopping distances with rotors - you are going to be tire limited on anything other than a 'qualifying slick'.

There's not much argument in this case..... some fluff and BS from some guy trying to sell rotors and a lot of fact.

Whoever the hell voted drilled is getting a spiked baseball bat to the head. Unless it was chan, then he just gets a P&C.
