My education is only starting to grow now that I have a reason to pay attension...
Item's needed:
Engine
T-5 tranny
harness
radiator
mounts
So far, Chad has found a 302 for $200obo.
Now we need a T-5 World Class tranny, driveshaft (chad's gonna sell his to us cheap ;-) ), radiator (JY raid).
I found a guy that will give us some free motor mounts I'm pretty sure, still working with him.
So there's a tad bit more knowledge, certanily not enough to say weather or not we'll go with the V8.

I know you *meant* to put them in the list, but you seem to have forgotten about the 2 (t-w-o) turbos
My two feet.
Yes, *two*, count 'em, one-two, positive manifold pressure devices.

Oh, sorry, I ASSumed those went w/o saying. There are kits availble for TT 302 using Garret T3 Turbos (found on all of the four XR's we're getting!). Or we just need the exhaust manifold plate and we'll make our own. Add to that an intercooler, adjustable FPR... $2006.... hmmm...

Wow, they look really nice, much better than I expected.
Pete, if he can't find the titles to the cars he's registered, would he be willing to fill out the forms for replacement titles? I'd be happy to do 100% of the legwork, pay the applicable fees, and I'll bring him the (surprisingly simple) paperwork.
In fact, if he could send me the VIN's, I'll have the forms filled out, all he'll have to do is sign.
I just think this project will go alot smoother if we can acquire titles, and I'm not asking him to do anythign but sign the paper.

I've got a big-ass intercooler core if there's someone decent at welding aluminum.
For this, I'll sell it to the club for a dollar, no matter what engine we use. But all this talk is academic, let's not count our eggs before horse.

d'oh! Forgot about the VIR indident.
well, I imagine his car could shoot flames too :p.
Dude, the car with the flames would be sweet if we painted the red part black. Then it would be black with yellow and white flames... MM colors ! Slap an MM logo vinyl or do it in paint and it would it would be money ^_^

For the record...Dan the owner of MachV motorsports (MachV.com) was given a garrett turbo with a 5 bolt turbine housing a while ago...he said he'd let it go to us fairly cheap because he likes the GRM challenge. I don't know much else about it...I'm not even sure if Dan does.
One larger single turbo might be a little easier for routing of intake pipes but would present us with hassles on the exhaust side so I don't know.
I would think keeping the original engine would be much less work...and a much higher chance that the car would be running and able to make compete come next spring. Not as cool though.

If this goes down I will buy one of the turbos off of one of the old engines to help support the project. All is has to have is a good 60trim (should be 2.3L stock) comp. side and wheel. Let me know what you guys want for one.
