Crew needed for Summit Point 12 hour, June 3-4
#1
I will be crew cheif for the DZ Racing "stars and stripes" Acura Integra for this year's 12 hour race @ summit point and we need a few more hands to help out. Its not particularly glamorous work but its a lot of fun and a great experience. I am not sure if the team is entering a 2nd car again this year. If you can make it out to this you will have a great time and learn a lot about racing being there.

I will be in charge of the car and doing the prep work, but we need some crew to help do brake changes, re-fuelling, running to the gas station/etc, and whatever other help we will need for the event. The weekend will start friday with practice and qualifying and the race starts saturday at noon. We will most likely have a test day wed or thurs before the event that we will use to shake down and dial in the car, heat cycle tires, bed in brake pads and practice pit stops - it will be a pretty busy day. All food, drinks, beer, etc are provided by the crew as well for the whole weekend as well as an RV if you need to take a nap.

Both cars in 2002:

Tempting, but need to check the schedule. Is it absolutely necessary to be there for the test days and such? I could probably swing Friday/Saturday/Sunday, but not Weds/Thurs.

DZ-Racing's policy is not to pay for 12 hr temporary or full scca membership. The 12 hour temp membership is $35 dollars. DZ-Racing is only being consistent with other teams with this as this has been the policy from years past for DZ-Racing (Since 1999).

However, exceptions can be made. Individuals with professional racing vitae's may ask for a waiver based on Sports Car, Formula experience at a professional level.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Interesting, the team I'm helping out is paying for all temporary memberships for any of us that don't have SCCA memberships.

I spoke with Larry over the weekend - if Mike is in we'll need 1-2 more. I belive John will be in also, and if Thayer is in we should be set - I will know more when we have a team meating (i.e. drinking and giving each other shit about last year)

Rob Mauck is apparently calling Larry, so we may have one less spot.
