don't waste your time it would be a whole lot of work IMO. You'd be better off buying an older Toyota track and putting in a 7M-GTE. That would let you keep the reliability of yours and have the fun truck at the same time.

problem is i think something might be wrong with my truck currently... i am getting a white and blueish smoke out of the exhaust on start-up and then it stops after you drive it for a little bit. if anyone has an idea has to what could be the culprit of the smoke i would appreciate to know. So IF my motor is on the way out i was thinking about the 1JZ swap or possibly just buying a new tacoma, maybe the X-runner

Valve seals.

If you try to put a 1JZ in your truck you will most likely lose your 4WD. In the older trucks, the bellhousings could be made to fit the 7M, but all of the JZ engines you see in Tacomas are 2WD only.

I'd say do your valve seals, then slap on a TRD 'charger. It'll be cheaper, more reliable, and probably nearly the same power.

hah, its not an engine rebuild man Big Grin
Just keep adding oil to it, thats what I did with the 240 till I found an engine for cheap. While you're at it, add some b00st to it to mix it up some.

Justin I think the X Runner would be a great choice. It is sporty as fawk, has a LSD, and a 6 speed manual and can still carry a nice motorcycle..

yeah, but think about the financial shit that goes with that. Getting a used Xrunner doesn't happen so he'd have to but it outright and definitely have to finance it. Rather than do that, he could save up a most of $1000 and get his 240 to have fun with that, while still having reliable transport from his Tacoma at the same time.

fuck the X-runner, its fun but not worth the extra shit that you would have to go through right now to get it. If I could just snap my fingers and own whatever I could feasibly have, I would not be tracking and daily driving a 240sx. Doing what is feasible and doing what is intelligent are two different things.
